if its so profitable then why doesn't anyone buy my gld domain? seriously when the faucet was up i had 2k uniques a day. made nearly 10 bucks in revenue from coinurl and a-ads in one week. theres gotta be someone interested in runnning a gld faucet.

Put it back online and promise to keep it running for at least 3 months and I'll send you over 5000 GLD right now and you can keep the domain.
hmm... let me ponder it for a few minutes if thats okay.

I have just updated the first post with more detailed block reward information.

Unless the source that has also been linked in the OP has not been updated with the newest source (and it should be), the block reward information in the OP in not correct:

Quote
int64 static GetBlockValue(int nHeight, int64 nFees)
{
    int64 nSubsidy = 500 * COIN;

    if(nHeight <= 200)                                     {        nSubsidy = 10000 * COIN; }
    else if(nHeight > 200 && nHeight <= 2200)     {        nSubsidy = 1000 * COIN;   }
    else if(nHeight > 2200)                               {        nSubsidy = 500 * COIN;     }
    return nSubsidy + nFees;
}

In English:  any block above 2200 is giving the default reward of 500 now.  That means the total number of coins (assuming the total number of blocks is still 673,700), is not ~100 Million, but ~340,839,000

Maybe this has already been stated elsewhere, but it should be accurate in the OP of this thread regardless.

Thanks.  No bias from me one way or the other, but the OP should be clear and accurate so others can chose for themselves.

Edit: Also, for what it's worth, even after the difficulty adjustment, the difficulty of GLD is still very high relative to the current mining hash rate, at least in comparison to other active coins.  As a random comparrison:

GLD  - Dif:  5.191   Hashrate:    15.53 MHash
WLD - Dif:  1.802   Hashrate:   394.73 MHash

ok no one wants 1gld.us? please? i'll let it go as cheap as i can. it only cost $8.65 to buy. not asking for any extra. just pay me what i paid or close to it and its yours, plus all the files from the faucet script

I can't believe some of you gldcoin backers are not taking the man up on his offer?? Domain plus faucet files for $8.65? (to the penny even, lol)

That's 3.65 LTC or roughly 4000 GLD. Crazy deal.

Why don't you buy it... I would if it were a better domain.

but who's aiming to get the biggest reward in the end

old man geezer microguy

That's because he put in the most money and is taking the largest risk. He's given away the most to.

there is no limit on blocks, its still 100 million coins.

Can you tell me where in the code this is defined?  This is not me challenging you, but me trying to understand the code better.
Thanks.

We are very well aware of this, it was mostly expected. The next diff adjust should bring that down to or close to the proper difficulty.
