News is good. But what about mining? The characteristics of nothing special. We will wait for the mining tests.

I just ordered 3 CGUs because I will build a new GTX rig
Good timing for me

I suppose 1070ti will be better than 1070 for quite same price

Yay, let's preorder a card that nobody has any idea how it performs. I'm going to wait for verified results before I pull the trigger.

The same memory than 1070 and 25% cores more.
It should be a fantastic and polyvalent GPU to mine all type of coins

Could they can push the max effective on mining ? Cause seems like with that price it's not fit with how it could be worked. And the news should give us some examples about how performance in mining of GTX 1070Ti .

which gtx 1070 ti would be the best model for air cooling?  MSI titanium/gaming or the duke tripple fans?  The evga sc black looks a bit whimmpy on cooling but it's the evga brand which is the best and tends to have the highest score reviews.  evga FTW2 looks great but too expensive $500.

I am not sure which one is the best/value card to get.  I want something that will have best air cooling and best resale value down the road.

I'd go with the Duke if you really want the card. Gaming X is roughly about the same as the Duke in cooling and performance. More fans can never hurt on a GPU as long as the cooling is adequate.

550-560 equihash

It WILL be better than a 1080 on eth. Id bet on that. How could it be worse?

On equihash it will probably be slightly worse than a 1080.

Why bet? Just look at the specs https://www.techpowerup.com/gpudb/3010/geforce-gtx-1070-ti https://www.techpowerup.com/gpudb/2839/geforce-gtx-1080
You're clearly wrong.

1070's are already better on eth than a 1080. Why would a 1070 ti be worse. There is one person clearly wrong here and it ain't me  Kiss

Memory clocks are same as regular 1070 - and core has no influence on ETH mining. I underclock cores on 1070s to 1000-1200 levels and still get same results (with much lower consumption from the wall). The highest hashrates on ETH are around 32,5 for really good cards (Zotac AMP! - able to sustain +900 (1800eff) on memories), 30-31 on regular cards and 29,5 on unlucky cards (Asus with Micron memories).
So regarding the ETH - I dont see any possibility to get higher hashes on 1070Ti - unless You manage to OC the memories like god.

So for equihash and other "core" algos gtx1070ti will be practically equal gtx1080. The price is also equal. Maybe we will see something interesting on Ethash and Neoscrypt

I was thinking about buying some normal 1070's, but with this news I think I will hold out and see what the reported results are from the 1070 TI first before deciding.

if the price would be the same as 1070 - then it is clearly a better deal, but I know that the price will be like 12-15% higher then the  regular price for 1070
So based on the leaked benchmarks of 3dmark the performance of GTX 1070TI will be better for 10-15% vs GTX1070, so basically that means it does not matter which card to buy, they are the same  Roll Eyes

Yeah, it's bad. No sense in buying the Ti, there is no chance it will cost the same as 1070, and suppliers already have upped the prices of the regular 1070.
Waiting for new architecture...

I am seeing in instagram, EVGA, X8LR, PNY and a few other suppliers all are offering it in pre order for 449 USD price. While you guys complain a smaller memory compared to RX Vega 56 keep in mind this in performance is between 1070 and 1080 so a bit more than 1070 and a bit less than 1080. For that price new it seems the correct price to me, hopefully when this hits the markets on early November the price of 1060 falls down even more as I have been saving some money to buy 2 or 3 of 1060 for my mining activity.
