Over 10% hashrate higher is "no difference between 16 and 19 compute units"?

 What a STRANGE theory.

I was predicting that this card would fall between the 1070 and 1080 on performance on ZEC - no shock there.
It IS a bit lower than I was hoping for on ETH, apparently it is severely memory-limited - but no shock there too.

I meant no difference regarding Ethash.
Honestly, didn't still have time to check Equihash results, but I guess it should be like Dovaogedys already pointed.

Given that AMD "good ETH mining cards" have dropped back under $300, why is anyone looking at a 1070 to mine ETH with anyway?

1070 ti turning out to be equal to the 1070 is not exactly a big deal - and it was already known that the 1070 was probably memory-limited on ETH anyway, so it's not a shock.

ethhash rates should be more or less similar to gtx 1070 (unless the RAM overclocks better than gtx 1070)
Equihash and core bound might give better results but so goes the power consumption.

ETH is not the end-all and be-all for mining.

Being no better on ONE ALGORITHM does not make the card "bad to mine".

I think that the price is little high for the overall improvements of the card, i think we agree on that ? But, on other hand we will get cheaper 1070, yaay

Still not received my 1070 TI.

I'll probably receive it tomorrow.

I'll make some dagger, equihash, dagger-dcr and myriad groestl mining test. Stock and overclock.

Stay tuned.

Cheaper 1070s are happening because folks aren't buying them as "can't get RX series mining cards, they're the next best option" any more, not due to the 1070 ti introduction.
If anything, the 1070ti seems to be driving 1080 prices up a hair.

Mine isn't due 'till Monday (EVGA SC model) - will play around with it some then post data (like I did in a couple threads about the Vega 56 I just got today that is happily Mooing bigtime).

Wasn't it already said that the 1070ti were just failed 1080's that Nvidia were just looking for a way to get rid of them.
So marketing just said slap a ti label on them and they will sell like hot cakes.

Fail if they mine the same as a regular 1070.
Fuck Nvidia man.
They suck to mine with anyways compared to AMD.

I got an early delivery today - just spent an hour and some testing my new EVGA SC 1070 ti.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2324651.msg23996225#msg23996225

In my personal experience, this is a new "efficiency" king for Equihash - and does AMAZINGLY well at fairly low TDP settings, though I don't understand why they underclocked the RAM by default.

Definitely a better option for Equihash (ZEC/ZEN/ZCL and such) than the 1070 across the board, and better than the 1080 except for "raw highest-end max push hashrate" once you optimise the settings.

This is NOT a good choice for ETH/ETC and such mining, it's memory limited and NO faster than the 1070.

It was a THEORY (that available facts support) that the 1070 ti GPU might be 1080 GPUs with one failed "compute unit" - but it's a more widely mentioned theory that the 1070 ti is a direct response to the RX Vega 56 being slightly better than the 1070 while being cheaper than the 1080.
(The theories are not incompatable - it could be BOTH, at least for the initial production run).

Which reminds me of one test I forgot to do on my 1070 ti - the Dnet/Moo! test - where it should beat the 1080 and STOMP the 1070 on keyrate per $.

(later add). Yup, 1070ti is a legit 6 gigakey/sec card there while the 1070 is a little better than 4 and the 1080 is a little better than 6 - and the same price range Vega 56 is capable of well over 8 while also staying under 100% TDP.
Sorry Nvidia, no price-range performance crown for you on THAT project.

Well... I have incredible result.

This is the 1070 TI I bought : https://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814487388&cm_re=1070_TI-_-14-487-388-_-Product

Myriad Groestl mining. ( You may calculate the difference compared to my 1060 6 go )

1060 6 go, overclocked at +130 cc and power limit to 75 = 51.5 MH ( Myriad Groestl only take CC in consideration )

1070 TI :

Stock : 86 MH

+142 cc = 91 mh

+192 cc = 92.3 MH

+275 cc = 95.5 MH ( Yes, + 275 Core clock )

+ 300 cc = power off

Power limit 75% + 270 CC overclocked ( sweetspot ) = 88.6 MH

Nvidia 1070 TI are doing 42% better than 1060 6 go

Price is 32 % higher.

You may need a bigger psu, or do dual psu since they need 2 x pci express power cords.

-----------------------------

Result : I'm really glad that I bought it and I'll build another rig with 1070 TI instead of 1060 for future resale value.

Have a good day Smiley

You OVERpayed for that model - NewEgg had a "Newegg as seller" listing for it at $499 - and the ICX models are more expensive anyway.
Price on COMPARABLE models is less than 10% difference - like the EVGA SC 1070 at $439 vs the EVGA 1070 ti SC at $469.

If the price difference is less than 10%, 1070Ti is better.
