We have been running a bunch of mmcFE based mining pools that are PPLNS and are very dissatisfied with the problems we have with them not paying out correctly.  After tweaking and reworking the code, we finally gave up on fixing it.  Our new pools have a totally rewritten core code and we think you will all like what we have now!
UPDATE: (9/7/2013) - We've released new 2nd Generation Vardiff Pools!
UPDATE: (1/25/2013) - We've vastly improved our stats and hashrate calculation code to run much faster.

Proportional Payout Per Block - You are payed after a block gets 100 confirms (confirm number varies for the different coins) and the payout is based on your shares ratio to the total shares for the block.

Finder Reward - The Worker that finds the block solution, gets 1-5% of the block (varies for each pool)

Strike out pools  - discontinued for lack of interest.
Pools so far:

NEW VARDIFF 2nd GEN POOLS:

These new pools use our latest code core, database, and vardiff stratum server...

FrankoCoin  - http://franko.ub3rl33t.com/

FastCoin     - http://fast.ub3rl33t.com/

DigitalCoin  - http://dgc.ub3rl33t.com/

More to come..

I tested your fastcoin pool, something is not right with this pool, it does not show valid shares, I just received 28fst in 8hours of mining, in http://fast.minepool.net/ I received 300fst in 6hours, this was an excellent pool, now closed. currently do not have choices of pools for this coin, I'm back to mine wdc.

You have to be mistaken, i reviewed the payout history for the pool and its working correctly. What was your username?  What was your hashrate?

I just looked up your username in the minepool.net pool and the ub3rl33t.com Pool. There is no way you made 3000 in 6 hours at the minepool.net pool.  your 2734 reward at the minepool.net pool was after 3,640 blocks.. that was not in 6 hours.. Especially considering that your hashrate was only around 50khs . In the ub3rl33t.com pool you have on record mined for 136 blocks, Payout ranging from 0.02159026 to 1.1 coins per block.  Please revise your statement.  The new fastcoin pool had a payout error during its maiden launch that was corrected and then payed out.  You were mining during that period and your payout was sent.  in addition, the minepool.net pool had 4 times the hash rate as this new one.  Come back and try again, you won't regret it.

Can you please respond?  You grossly exaggerated your experience at minepool.net to make a negative comment about this new pool.

Yes!  stay tuned to this thread.. We are going to add many more pools.
5% of the block is removed when it is confirmed and given to the pool finder, as well as the reward that miner earned with share ratio.
So, basically the rest of the pool miners are getting their share ratio of the block amount - 5%.

That's sick.

Finally something good for the block finder Smiley

Like Hazard said, make a SBC pool too. I'll alternate between the two.

Is this a desired feature?  Given block finders (on average) would be the higher hashrates, and already earning the higher incomes for that hashpower, would you not be (again on average) punishing any smaller miners at your pools?  Especially if you have a small handful of mega-hashers and a bunch of (relatively) smaller ones.

Legit question, because I've got a few massive hashers at a couple of my pools, I'm sure they'd love this, but it seems shitty for everyone else (which would be the majority of miners at the pool. They'd lose way more on the 5% per block than they'd gain by fluking into solving one)

Profit-Switching Pool w/ Vardiff -> http://hashco.ws  Optionally keep the alts we mine or auto-trade for BTC. In addition can be paid out in any of: 365, AC, BC,  BTC, C2, CINNI, COMM, FAC, HBN, MINT, PMC, QRK, RDD, WC, XBC

That's true.

I guess make the block reward proportional to hashing power?

Even the medium guys hit the block here and there.  Its fair the same way that its fair that someone with the resources to put out such high hashpower get more coins anyways.  maybe its not meant to be fair, just different.  BUT.. I'll consider that for future coding ventures.

I'm hoping the pool will be attractive in that it is very accurate with payouts, not like the mmcFE pool it was derived from.

But medium/small miners join pools for exactly this reason. Because they can't compete on their own against the big boys.  Yes they can fluke into it, but wouldn't they be solo-mining if they thought that'd be profitable for them?  They are guaranteed to lose 5% earnings per block vs. the much smaller chance of them hitting a block.  Not trying to trash the idea, I was actually just wondering if other miners out there liked the idea and thought it had merit.

Good luck with the pools!
