It depends on coin, sometimes that small amount of airdrop you get for bying and holding special coins - doesnt deserve this attempt. just once i was satisfied , when i bought nxt before ignis airdrop. I didnt need ignis actually, i just bought nxt by 2k sat and sold for 12k sat What a great deal before NY!

Usually I'm try to research what kind coin that I want to invest and observe community response before I decide to invest in. Sometimes for quick profit, I just sell it as soon as it's appear on exchange !

in my view airdrops wont have any value airdrops are created only for marketing of particular coin it is better to sell the coin as soon as listed then only we can see some price from free airdrops

If a company does airdrops but not an ICO, doesn't that mean that they are not looking for a quick profit, just wide distribution of the coin? Seems to me the coins don't have much value until they are listed on an exchange and even if the team sells off first, they make very little as the price is still low, no? Until the team starts hitting some milestones, creating traction e.t.c, are the airdroppers likely to find any buyers anyway? Just trying to understand if there is anyway to make an airdrop-no ICO work.

I'm hoping to get some advice from people with much experience trading airdropped tokens or coins.
Let's say a token/coin is about to distribute a big airdrop to many users, doesn't that usually mean that more people (those receiving the airdrop) will immediately sell their new token/coins and therefore cause negative movement of token/coin value? Given this, is it then best practice to SELL before airdrops are distributed?
For your question "more people (those receiving the airdrop) will immediately sell their new token/coins" I would say yes, there are tons of people who are looking for instant profit regardless if the price is low/high since it is free is it then best practice to SELL before airdrops are distributed? If you think that the project has a good future and potential, hold until its main net or product release, then you decide

That depends on the token actually. If the token in only obtained through airdrop and not through ICO, that means the coin may have a very little value in the market. Because it is available for free of cost so why would people pay a price for obtaining it? That will become a pump and dump scenario. Even though we have few exceptions like DeepOnion, but that's very very rare case. I usually don't look much at the tokens but it is wise to investigate well about a token before you invest anything. And if you are getting free coins through airdrop, it is wise to sell it off at the first place while buyers are available in the market. Because later it may have no value. I don't agree with you. There are a lot of good projects that will be dropped. This can be widely disseminated in the media in the shortest possible time.

It's up for the token airdrop holders if they are going to hold or just dump the coin then goodbye ICO got free money, but in the most cases there would be a toxic people for the opening price as they dump the tokens without second thinking for a long-term holding whatever if the project is just useless then how beneficial for us to hold those tokens in a cold storage device for a longer keeping.

Well the coin/token must have some kind of fairness and real life use, good developers and marketing. In that situation never sell just hodl if you can make or find such a project...

If there is an upcoming snapshot because of an airdrop for the coin that you hold, you should not sell, because a lot of people will buy in if the project that will be airdropped is promising. If it is an airdrop for that is for new members, you maybe should sell. But it depends on the amount of tokens/coins that will be airdropped.

Best practice is to buy tokens when it is listed in the first exchange. By that way, you will buy way lower than the ICO price. And sell before airdrop distribution to avoid the price fall.
