Sick of ICOS! 99% of them are not worth the investment! Share your opinion ;)

For every 100 or so ICOs i see, i only see potential in 1 or 2 of them. People think ICO = Success. They are starting to realise that only a handful will actually become projects of value.

you are right shit icos are increased but i dont think that is %99. there are still good projects and but now its hard to find .im looking almost every ico in this site and still making money from them

Let me tell you that you are pretty lucky if you still manage to make good profits by investing in ICOS.

I am new (4 months in) and only joined one ICO so far.  There were few others I liked but either; I was late, did not make the whitelist, etc.

Right now, I have 2 ICOs I am waiting for.

Actually i am considerimg only ICOS tha already have a product or a well developed platform.
For instance MODUM..i invested in their ICO and now i have already doubled my investment

With the many ICOs joining the market regularly it is clear that some of them will fail. But you can do your own analysis and there are still promising projects available and the ICO market still has a huge growth potential, otherwise some countries would not consider to start regulating them.

Your being impatient, because if you follow the market for crypto currencies,  you would understand that the market is similar in ways resembling the stock exchange.  Ethereum, as well as any other bitcoin alternatives,  have their price affected directly according to the volatility of Bitcoin.
   Tokens are a relatively new phenomenon in the crypto world, and you must allow time for the company behind each token to grow. In other words, it's too soon to pass judgement without waiting to see what direction a company is heading. Token prices are low because  people are massively selling them off, before giving a company a fair chance to grow. There are so many shitcoins, that all ICOs are catching negative feedback. Some ICOs are definitely a scam, but there are somenreally good startup companies out there, it's best to research a startup company thoroughly before passing judgment,  or investing. If your lookingnto get rich quick overnight,  there's a very strong chance that you won't.

By investing in an ico you're actually investing in a concept of an unproven business model. About 85% won't survive their first year. This makes it extremely difficult to actually get a good return on your investment.

I am just saying that ICOS are not worth investing during the ICO process because of big dumps right after the ICO is over.
I do believe that many of these projects which got financed through ICO will grow in the future and give investors the deserved bounties.
So the best thing to do in my opinion is to invest in these projects by buying tokens in the very fisrt hours of listing on exchanges

For a lot of ICOs lately then this does seem to be the trend, I think eventually there will be a reversal as people start to pick up on this. There are still some successful ICOs however that are very profitable if you can get in early. The problem is is that a lot of people are only investing in the ICO to try profit short term instead of longer term and then they dump as soon as the coin hits the exchange.

In my opinion the most of dumpers are people who got those coins/tokens by supporting the ICO for bounties.
So people behind ICOs should understand that it is not a good move to reward helpers with tokens of the ICO.
If they reward them with regular coins like bitcoins , ethereum , dash etc... situation would be way different.

They wont do such thing that those coin owners would decide to pay up directly with bitcoin or etherium. Heres the various reason. They wont do such thing because this would signifies that they don't have trust into their own coin.Next one,they cant still be sure if they would able to make money and pay up those expenses that they do pay to the bounty allocation this is why they do always decide to pay up on their own tokens.If the community would decide to adopt it and invest on it then that's the time would give them advantage and talking about bounty hunters you cant blame those ico if they would really put allocation because no one would advertise to them if there would be no bounty to happen.

I agree with you..this is the most plausible way of thinking for ICOs makers but if things keep working this way i will stay in my position and never ever join an ICO again.

Its not actually bad to join into those ICO as long you do know on what you are doing specially on choosing up a particular project.If you did able to see that a certain project do really have the potential then its not bad to risk because we do know if we wont risk nothing we wont gain nothing.Its just like that this is why this ICO investment is really risky not only on ICO but all of investments either online or offline.The sick thing on here is that there are already hundreds of ICO as of now which this would make even more harder to choose which one and I'm not willing to read all those white paper which I do end up on nitpicking according into my interest.

Yes I agree we are in the ico recesion now, but there are still some gems that will moon. A lot of projects are very overvalued it is because the investors were throwing all the money on them. Let's look at the overvalued icos that are below ico right now... First one is enigma, this is the worst ico ever 45mln raised. -40% below ICO. they have raised the cap just 2 weeks before ico due to a high demand (money grab!) I don't know why people invested in this project... I passed on them

this is true, i dont know why there are some people who is still investing in there, this is insane, they are not even making profit from it because the token drops a lot once that the ico's token gets listed.
A lot of people who invest on those projects are because they think that the price will be 20 times more higher than the price they bought on pre-ico or just ico stages, and it never happened before.

ICOs can definitely still be profitable investments.

However, with market full of ICO scams you should really be careful. Don't take the word of the dev. Do your own research or expect to get scammed. Honestly, there are incredible projects out there offering great products but they can't market and vice versa. You just need to find those good projects.

Also, ICOs are risky. So don't expect every investment to end with a profit.

Of course i can make some serious cash with the right ICO but if i buy the tokens in the first hours of listing on exchange i can double that cash!

No, this makes no sense. I have seen several good projects which loses their value very fast after hitting the exchange. The best bet would be to buy after this initial dip, off-course there are risks. But if the project is good, the price will pick up eventually because real investors will come in

What is the average bounty for any project 1-3%? Lets assume that half of that is dumped right away, 0.5-1.5% cant be enough to be responsible for 10, 20,30 and more % downwards motion. They are the initial big investors.

I would be very picky on what ICO I will invest and if I invest I will have to join when there are still big bonus given away. This way, even if bounty hunters and dumpers dump their coins on the first week, you will not lose too much. If it is a good project it will recover in time.

Don't see there being any big gains to be made in them anymore.
All seem quite, well, scammy.
And if it's just for an ERC20 token I totally disinterested.

If the coin has a real Blockchain then the chances of you making money on that coin is much higher than the normal investor. That is something to think about.
