If you decide to buy Bitcoin for investment transfer it to a safe paper wallet and hodl it. I would stay away from trading activities (and altcoins in particular), because more than 90% of traders will loose in the end.

There are so many reasons Here in this Forum, I will not give you Reasons,  I will Only Give you Advice.
Many have Doubted Bitcoin in the First Place When Bitcoin Was Introduced in the Internet Some of Them Really take Action and Eventually they are now the so called the millionaires.
 Do Some Researching because if you will just Only believe on the answers of your question without Trying to experience in investing in bitcoin then it will be  waste of time and Money,
 if you Will be able to experience then you will also be able to evaluate yourself.
Just Keep on trying So You Will not be dismayed after years and will not make reasons why you did not start Investing.

Those bolded are simple not correct, and can be used as marketing for other coins.
Yesterday one exchange took me more than 10$ for transferring 130$ worth BTC. ZCash for example has almost all features as Bitcoin + anonymity using zkSNARKs technology.
Price per unit now is 6x bigger than it was at the beginning of the year. Investors could be confused with this extraordinary demand and amazing price rise.
Why then BTC? Because it is most popular as first of its kind. Because big capital flows in it while we are speaking. Because it is already mainstream!

You should really not need a reason from some strangers on the internet telling you why to buy bitcoin.  If that is the case you might as well sit in a yahoo " how to make money " in penny stocks chat room. The reality everyone is different for example if you in Venezuela bitcoin is a good way to fight hyper inflation. In North Korea it can be used as a way for people to store value from a oppressive dictatorship. In the USA  can be used as a way to dream of financial independence or as a way to send money for lower costs.

These are my  reasons
1. Has a larger market value among other cryptos
2. Being more in demand
3. High rate of increase on its market value
4. Profitable
5. I can't give more. Invest to Bitcoin if you are aiming for huge profit. You may read articles about how fast and big is its leap on its market value within jist a year particularly on this year. The increase is what gives its users especially investors huge profit since as the value is increasing the profit is getting bigger. And that's enough in my opinion to call Bitcoin a good investment.

Probably the only reason of why a lot of people are investing in bitcoin right now, and that is disgusting. I am still seeing dozens of new investors saying that they only feel attracted to it because the price is *rising*

I'll leave you with one: It is a deflationary currency, which means its value is expected to grow in the future when the supply becomes more and more scarce while demand goes up. This alone makes it a good investment choice, worth at least a small percentage of allocation in your investment portfolio.
