There is no doubt this is a shameful act by a few people, especially those who were having good responsibilities as a merit source and also achieved good ranks like Legendary and Hero.
 Here I also agree with @Rikafip; he pointed out a few good things, as @theymos is well aware of all the community and how it's working, but sadly no one is taking responsibility and wanting to do improvement because some time back @irfan_pak10 hinted that mostly members are doing this for bread and butter, so this ended, but now after this incident things are already at the lowest level and need changes and checks and balances because only this can improve the community's reputation.
 There are many other communities with alt accounts and spammers but now our community is under attack due to this Pizza contest and price of $1500 which needed to be give back but now they all gone hopefully in coming time members will be avoid things which make us more problematic and forum feel they have no moral because we need to live with pride instead of having tags or hate.

I can feel your feelings brother and you are absolutely right to call it out. But one or two low points do not define us. A community reputation isn't built by few people who are selfish instead it is built by hundreds of us who show up everyday , do the work and help each other.

Obviously this hurts. People will talk but the same comments section that is asking questions will see when we turn around in the near future.

Either the whole Pakistan board is entirely involved in this story, or this makes no sense.
If a fraud were discovered in the Italian board, our board, for sure there would be a lot of noise from people trying to avoid being confused with the scammers.

Maybe that's why they didn't get their own local board yet despite being one of the more active communities for the last few years. theymos certainly has more info than us and may see exactly that - bunch of alt accounts.

We can only hope that they were honest, but based on the experience from the very first pizza contest that was also manipulated, I wouldn't be so sure. But as you said, lessons learned and hopefully next year's one will be even better.

Such a shame and disgrace for our whole community.

Whatever was gained from this was never worth the damage done to the reputation of the Pakistan community. The same time and energy could have been spent learning technical skills, contributing something useful, or even trading.... and probably earning twice or three times as much without dragging an entire community's name through the mud.

Now read the comments above and see what we have achieved??? People are questioning whether our entire local community is an account farm and even wondering whether this could be one of the reasons we never got our own board.

That's not an achievement to be proud of. That's probably the lowest point I've seen for our community here.

I hope we take this as a serious lesson. A reputation takes years to build and only a few people making selfish decisions to damage it for everyone else.
