So this means we'll lose a few weeks of stakes on the CAP chain and destroying the weight and age of CAP due to the consolidation process.

You have 2 month, and can stake 3 times. Make consolidation after stake. You need send periodically CAP to new wallet, if not want freezing wallet. (more then 15K transaction in wallet)
Hint: type in console:
sendtoaddress address 5000
and repeat many times.
