Did you buy it with the intention of mining or gaming? It's important to think about the long-term effects of mining if you plan to use it for gaming.

Around $3-4. If I where you I would mine new released coins with low difficulty and hope they increase in value in the future.

1080's are worth for mining using Claymore's crypyonight miner, I have 4 1080's and currently mining XMR w/ a hash rate of 4k to 5k which are all overclocked. I don't go to a coin w/ low difficulty, I'm basing which coin to mine base on its algo. Even if Cryptonight's are designed for CPU mining, GPU's are still effective to mine them.

If you're just making it a hobby then XMR will be the best among other coins as it may increase its value more in the near future.

It shows quite long ROI, compared to other mining cards like 1060 or rx580, but it shows good hashrate on Zcash minng and some core-bound algorithms.

Wow winminer? Thats the first time i've heard of that. I hope you bought your 1080ti not soley for mining because there are a lot of other options and more profitable GPUs for mining right now.

But yes, 1080ti mining can still be worth it. Esp, if you will be upgrading and adding more GPUs soon. To help you, you can backread the 1080ti profitability thread.
