Setup this discussion so we know the best way to max out the potential for this expensive GPU.

We know from time to time the profitability shift, so hope here can get advise and suggestion for near optimum profit.

Best Algo/hashrate:
Which pool:
which mining software:
current expected daily profit before electricity:
Any OC (core/memory):

Or any tips on extra mod:

30/May/2017:
I currently tried EWBF miner seems like giving the highest hashrate of 705-720 sol/s vs Nicehash that gave 680 range. Both are point to Nicehash pool. Not sure is this optimised.

As many says that Skein can get like $350 a month but seems like my short try dont really sees good result. maybe I dont know the best way to setup.

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin-Qt, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

Will watch and contribute to the topic.

I already have AMD ETH rig but also planning to get a powerful Nvida GPU for my gaming computer and looking for ways to make money with it as well.

ROI of 4-5 months for a 1080Ti would be nice Smiley

Lets see what happens.

Good, lets see how this will progress. I already have 2 running.
Zotac 1080ti Amp
Zotac 1080ti Amp Extreme

Both with around 705-730 sol/s with EW but with NH is 680-690.

Performance with Claymore Dual mining is worse than pure Zcash.

Really happy if those who has good success with Skein can provide some lights here

What does 700 Sol/s translate into in terms of Zcash/XYZ Coin/USD value per month (with current coin prices)?

Is it per card or both makes 700ish sol/s

I actually get into minng business recently and for now mining ETH with AMD rig.

I am going to buy new GPU for my gaming PC and looking forward to get GTX 1080 or 1080Ti. I already have AMD ETH rig.

My plan is making my gaming PC to mine whatever Nvidia card can mine (Zcash, Skein etc.) when I do not game/use it.

This means it will mine likely 20 hours a day. PSU is Seasonic X750-KM3.

I do not plan to use more than two GPUs as I will be using current system without buying any other hardware/upgrading. This is supposed to be gaming PC but why not mine some on it.

Actually my mobo (Asrock E3V5 Gaming) only supports Crossfire but no SLI so  dual Nvdia cards will make no good for me for gaming but only for mining.

One option for dual Nvdia GPU would be using one of them for gaming while the other one mines and both of them mining when I dont game.

Electricity cost 0.11-0.13 USD/Kwh.

I am more inclined to a single GTX 1080ti rather than dual GTX 1070/1080 considering no SLI support.

I think my Skylake Xeon 1260L v5 CPU will not bottleneck a 1080ti as I can OC it to stock i7 6700/7700 level easily as my passmark test result indicate.

If I invest 950-1000 USD local purchase (or 775-800 USD international purchase) for a 1080Ti now does it make sense for my conditons?

If yes which brand and model would you suggest to buy?

Can it ROI in 4-5 months or till the Volta GTX GTX 2070/2080 comes into market and kills it price and performance wise with current coins Nvida can dig?

Even if card ROI itself, this is good. As the card remains with resell value and high performance gaming will be a very good side benefit for me.

You can check any has by putting it in manually at whattomine.com.  In my experience, and to simplify, 2 1060s are roughly the same as a 1080 and 3 is a little more than a 1080ti.

on skein i can do 1GH with this beast but you need 90-100%tdp, this card i tried many algo and it work good for skein jha and other algo that share the same spec as these, heavy memory algo are bad for this gpu, it need to be optimized

I like to give it a try on Skein, can suggest the followings?

- which pool to use
- which miner software
- any other tuning needed?

Thanks

You can check any has by putting it in manually at whattomine.com.  In my experience, and to simplify, 2 1060s are roughly the same as a 1080 and 3 is a little more than a 1080ti.

Thanks for the tip. I checked with 3 1060 GPUs, 700 h/s on Equihash section, 0.13USD KW/H , 400W for power consumption (I believe this value is ok or likely to be less for a single GTX1080Ti for a Skylake Xeon PC).

The results are 7.40USD profit for ZCL and 6.89 USD profit for Zcash with current prices. So roughly I can make 200USD profit per month which ROIs a 1000 USD 1080Tİ in 5 motnhs.

I also checked with 1000 sol/s since I saw a screenhot of GTX1080Ti that can achieve that with a customized miner software (I will mine the custom SW to find it first Smiley )

Then the results are 10.96 USD profit for ZCL and 10.38 USD profit for Zcash with current prices. So roughly I can make 300USD profit per month which ROIs a 1000 USD in 3-3.5 months.

If Z Coin prices increase, it is even better, if they decrease, I can keep mining just and/or enjoy my beast GPU for elite gaming.

Also there are others like Lbry, Skein and so. I did not calculate them yet but Z Coins can convince me to start with a GTX 1080Ti or GTX 1080.

GTX 1080 is like half the price of GTX 1080Ti. Maybe I consider it but since I am more inclined to a single GPU setup, a 1080Ti seems more preferable.

700 h/s is about real world $6-$7 per day.
...and that is with Zcash at $200+

What happens when this bubble pops and Zcash goes back to $38 like it was only a few short weeks ago?

Just pesamistic'ing out loud Cheesy

cheers!

Till/In the future I am/wiil more on the trading side of coins. I just added mining to my portfolio and with current prices it seems a viable way of generating income.

Also these are not some mining appliance but composed of generic pc components which have resale value and use for other areas such as gaming and rendering.

use yiimp it's  avery nice pool with many altcoin supported, mine skein there, with ccminer 2.0 the last version of ccminer that support almost all algo out there, i don't tune much i just leave my 1080ti at 80% and +25 or +50 core

1080ti at 80% and +25 or +50 core

you can get even higher at least +100core with no problem (maybe a bit more rpm on fans, if its FE like my 1080ti - im on 73% tdp, +197core, -300mems and now eats ONLY 180-190w... BUT still need some tuning for better hashrate)

Setup this discussion so we know the best way to max out the potential for this expensive GPU.

Best Algo/hashrate:
Which pool:
which mining software:
current expected daily profit before electricity:
Any OC (core/memory):

Or any tips on extra mod:

I currently tried EWBF miner seems like giving the highest hashrate of 705-720 sol/s vs Nicehash that gave 680 range. Both are point to Nicehash pool. Not sure is this optimised.

As many says that Skein can get like $350 a month but seems like my short try dont really sees good result. maybe I dont know the best way to setup.

*typo edit

700 Sol/s will make you $223/month as of this post, assuming free electricity and current price of $234.

https://www.nicehash.com/?p=calc

give you some idea of today's rate estimated earning

Not an estimate - my numbers from yesterday computed for monthly is

$217/mo on Skein

If you're already getting 700 Sol/s and it's already set up you might as well just leave it there because as techno8k just posted it's at

$223/mo so 1 is not astronomically better than the other ATM

As i have mixed card mind into nicehash so not really can do a real comparison. As 1080ti just started about a week, still not able to see good data.

anyway i just started trying Nemo on zpool. not sure this is a good try. so far seeing way too many swithing of algo. not sure all those in between switch has all the latency lost. and not sure about all those talk about "stealing and missing within zpool" are real or have any impact. will let it run for a while to find out

Last 5 hrs results with Nemos auto algo and zpool:

0.00047437 BTC. Not sure it will be seeing more after full 24 hrs. may need to run for few days for a more accurate daily profit? Still not sure any more fee deduction when doing the BTC transfer.

give and take it will do 0.0005 BTC in 5 hours, this is like 0.0024 BTC/day. which is far from Nicehash 0.0032 estimate! I already feel that 0.0032 BTC/day from Nicehash is not optimised.

Really wish those who has better alternative with 1080ti can share over here.
