Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

Hello everyone,
Is it actually profitable to mine with NiceHash ?
Feels like having your coin sold for BTC isn't allowing you to trade or hodl for a better price (but avoid big dumps).

Nicehash sometimes is profitable, sometimes is not. You are correct that is paying in BTC, but this is the simplest method for a newbie. Just download the program add BTC address and start mining. For the other coins you have to download different miners, configure them, choose pool, register on pool and couple of other stuff - you need some technical skills. |

Yes it is. As a newbie, I started off with Minergate because of the number of alt coins (most are shit, unfortunately) and its easy to use interface. I quickly figured out I wasn't getting much out of my equipment there. I then went to nanopool with claymore for ETH but with the difficulty increases and instability of the coin value lately, the ROI went in the tank so I stopped. I then picked up NiceHash and frankly I like it. Am I eking out the most I can out of my equipment? No, but for the most part it's start and walk away. With (3) MSI 1070s undervolted and clocked I'm seeing $5.33/day ATM. The payout was quick and without a hitch and I appreciate the value in that. |

I started on Minergate as well. Nicehash is better, especially if you just want BTC. I will admit, though, I keep Minergate around for times when more difficult miners give me a hard time. It pretty much always runs, so at least I can scrape in some Bytecoin or something while I fix my main software.

To answer your question Nicehash pays out daily if you meet the minimum payout amount, or they also do a forced weekly with a lower payout amount. The problem with the forced weekly payout is you are subject to a 4% withdrawal fee. While Nicehash may be ok for real beginners, once you been mining for more than a few days I would seriously consider moving to a real pool with reasonable fees. There are many to choose from, and then learn to transfer your funds to an exchange to convert to BTC yourself. You can even use an exchange wallet address to point your miners at on many pools, so one less step for you. You will end up saving in fees and have more control over your coins so that you can convert them at the most profitable some, and not randomly. Sure, it is more work but then again you learn a lot more about how to entire ecosystem works. Also, before blindly taking advice from these "Nicehash supporters" take a look at some of their post histories. User yerfei for example, almost every post he has made recently is in reply to similar threads where is one line answer is "You can start with NiceHash or Winminer", along with a link. Who's to say he is not an representative from Nicehash/Winminer promoting their product? It doesn't take much to make an account on this forum and level it up, so you need to research more than just the pools when relying on information found on here. |

Nicehash is the best to play around with, get your GPUs benchmarks and really begin to understand how mining works. The problem will be if you are a small time miner and only have one GPU you may not receive payouts for weeks or months. If you lower the payment threshold or mine to their wallet you could be getting killed in fees. I would play around with it till you understand a bit more then look out into other options such as mining pools for different coins that have profitability. Once you do that you should see your overall profit increase more. Its more work as you will have to sell the altcoins for BTC but it is fairly easy concept.

I'm not planning to blindly take advices haha, I'm actually looking for a clear visibility on the options I have (convenience/profit when mining etc.). But I take your point, you're right. You're killin' me smalls  I'm definitely NOT a promoter of any kind, I just think Nicehash is a good entry plug n play software. I also mine ETH, Musicoin, and GRC/SPARC, but the latter are mostly out of interest more than returns. I've had some issues on other pools that no one was able to solve so I just got frustrated and stuck with Nicehash due to lack of time. Where/what are you mining?? Or better yet, where did you go after Nicehash? |

I think it would be better if you have vga card inside your computer because it will help you to mining coins and your computer is not hot too fast. I think regular cpu is fine but you can not mining big coins and I think you need to buy vga card for this. in nicehash you need to download the software too and you can adjust your speed and there is a recommended from the software to know what coins that will give you the best result. |

We cannot able to tell what is the profit you can make using nice hash mining software. If you enable multiple GPU cards in your PCI slot and rise upto 6 means your profit range will increase. We cannot say stilll what is the actual profit you can earn via Nice hash. This calculation has to done by the mining calculator available to calculate profit. You need to know the electricity range in your home to set and calculate it. |
