What's my privacy on this board? I'm not concerned about threads that I post in, but what about the threads I only watch? Who has that information? Is this board's meta-data encrypted?

People with access to the database:

Global moderators can download the encrypted database backups. Admins and past admins (Gavin, Satoshi, Sirius, me, and now justmoon) can decrypt them -- they therefore have complete access to the database and can read PMs, etc. Justmoon and I can also query the live database.

lolwut? watch list = "bookmarks" for the forum.

watch list = list of people to look for suspicious activity.

It is pitch black. You are likely to be eaten by a grue.

I've never heard anywhere of any kind of forum or forum-like site who stores encrypted data.

The best way to counter surveilance state is to make everything public. That way nobody can have an unfair advantage based on exclusive access to information.

You can start by sharing your watchlist here.

They're there, in their room.
