Just posting a teaser for now. This is a functioning Avalon clone populated with a single hash unit with a single ASIC, mining for 6+ hours (note the 1388 accepted diff-1 shares). A public announcement, with many more details about who we are and what we make, will be made soon. I think the Bitcoin community will be quite pleased Smiley

This is amazing and I look forward to hearing more about this! I'm curious though: do you guys have an ETA on how long it should take before getting ASIC's rolled out?

- Payment types: we will be open to most options.
- Yes we are in Orange County / LA.
- I will not give any ETA. We prefer to surprise the community once products are ready to ship.

good work mrb,
this is what we wanted to see in the beginning.

Well, I will transmit the thanks to my friends and partners who work on this project with me.

Looks great so far. I hope this is all done sooner rather than later, :p.

- We will likely sell via an auction. No price in mind for now.

That makes a lot of sense, business-wise. Especially knowing that a lot of people have tended to overpay for mining hardware in the past. I can also understand why some people don't like it at all, because the price will probably go higher than what they are ready to pay.

Now, what you need to do is to figure out in which pace you should put your products up for sale, once they are ready.

Wow. Congratulations! You beat me to it, and I am green with envy. I still don't have my sample chips (a good excuse). A partner has received his samples, but now I have to send him the only Control Unit we have.

Question: Does your Spartan chip load the bitstream from the Flash chip during init, and it should work? In my case, what happens after loading from Flash is that the Spartan halts. It seems there are certain parts to the bitstream missing. If I program the Spartan chip directly using JTAG, then it works.

good work mrb,

this is what we wanted to see in the beginning.

hint hint: the chip has a much higher clock cap.  Wink Roll Eyes
Is this due to advances at the fab?

Does it run any cooler?

at bitcoin2013, yifu stated they had a 340 mhz firmware but were holding it back.

I've known mrb for quite a while, done some very large transactions with him in the past, and he's as legit as they come.  This should be good.

We are absolutely interested in doing assembly for those who have Avalon chips. But we work with minimum quantities of 10 thousand chips per customer. If you are interested, email me at m.bevand at gmail.com
