When the altcoin prices are going down,i refuse to sell my altcoins and i just wait.
Sooner or later the altcoins will start to grow again.
The bitcoin price is just fine,i`m holding my bitcoins untill the of end the year and perhaps i will sell
most of my btc during January 2018.

Firstly, it totally depends on the Altcoin I am holding, and since I do not really deal with shit coins, knowing how much they have made me lost so much in the past, I don’t usually get worried.
However, I have my stop loss set just in case there is going to be a very huge dip which I believe has always worked for me if I end up buying at the very huge dips and selling for profit later on and there are some altcoins that I don't really bother about, cause I know no matter the dip and once the cloud is clear, they are coming back straight up. I always get my cash back! There are just some patterns that would always occur.

I think it is true that; if the bitcoin increase then the altcoins will go down. I have many altcoins and most of my altcoins are going down. I holding all of my altcoins because I know that holding can make more money.

Try to keep a diversified portfolio.

Also have a clear idea of how to divide up your capital, and then invest accordingly (e.g. 40% for established coins BTC/ETH,etc  ; 40% for promising alts ; 20% for short term flips/pump and dumps/high risk stuff)

That usually helps to keep your portfolio steady. Might not be the best and maximizing profit, but at least you'll always have some level of fallback and wont be too prone to losing everything at once.

these days i prefer staying away from altcoins. i find it a much safer strategy rather than trying to make any profit out of them. they are like falling knives right now and catching them can cause more harm to me than good.

i stay away, have my mind at ease and my money safe, then when the altcoin pumps began i'll make sure to come back and invest with a fresh strength and a calm mind.
in my personal experience whenever i keep my investment in altcoins and try to fight the market when i know i can't, i go mad and that means making bad decisions and they lead to loss of money.

I am ;
- Converting half of my bitcoin into Fiat while holding half of my bitcoin to buy alts when it will dump more.
- Buying alts with fiat I am getting from exchanging bitcoin, not buying shitcoin just buying coins with high marketcaps or top 10 coins.
- Will buy more alts with remaining bitcoin when fork will complete.

This might not be perfect strategy for right now but its my strategy which I am currently using for upcoming fork.

If you exchanged your altcoin to bitcoin few back means you will be profitable now. According to current scenario, we need to see the what is best altcoins which can rise in future value wise. If you convert your bitcoin that exact coins which gonna rise in future means you will be profitable. If you invest on any shit coins or new ICO coins that is bad choice and you will loose your money.

if i have the alt coin and the price is up but the Btc going down, i prefer to sell half my alt coin, i'm sure they will ll going more higher, precisely.

Well, I usually hold since most of the coins on me don't really get that too much dips and even if they experience some few dips more than what I got, I buy more and wait for the crazy period to pass and then sell them at huge profit recovering any loss I could have had, that is if I eventually did anyway cause most times, I always end up getting back even more profit. One thing is that most of the pumps will get pumped back once the show ends.

This is an old and effective way of trading both bitcoins and altcoins. But in recent times few altcoins also showed good appreciations along with bitcoins. Hence we cannot be sure what is going to happen everyday. A simple strategy I do follow : hold bitcoins and never touch altcoins.

Since Im used to face the risks, then I will just let my alts stay. This is the challenge on doing altcoin trades. While Im losing the value of alts but on the other hand, bitcoin price was continously rising then it's fine on my side. No worries.

I have criteria whether which alts can be considered as long term and short term. For those coins that I considered short term, once I think they are experiencing their price hype, I will quickly pull the trigger to dump them all especially those coins I got for airdrop and bounties. For alts that I considered good for long term holding, I considered them as loss so that I will not mind them even their value got to zero.

I am mostly accumulating alt-coins with a little active day trading also, if a coin has a small spike then I'm selling off in the expectation it will fall again to a previous price, that way I'm gaining alts and when they eventually rise I should profit nicely.

I was trading Altcoins a until a few days back. It all happened when the BTG fork was going to happen.
Most of the people were selling Altcoins to receive the free BTG. I thought the prices would bounce back when the fork is over but to my astonishment the prices went further low. It was that time when I sold all my Altcoins and started to hold BTC. I must say that holding BTC is generating more profit than the Altcoins.

If i want stability, i would buy Dogecoin. But if i want to earn more coins, i would buy BTC. Dogecoin is very solid compare to other altcoins (it's value doesn't change a lot), BTC is very strong and a sure investment.

My theory is simple i am just holding my altcoins and not at all watching the price as i know they are down more then 90%. Next week i am getting my payment then thinking of investing in them as i know when bitcoin correction will start all altcoin price will start to jump

I think your decision is not good for future. Altcoin value is more fluctuation in the market. So better we change to invest in Bitcoin. Some users are before think the future value. Which coin is good for future. How it is develop in the market. Because we choose good altcoins or Bitcoin. Most of the traders are invest Bitcoin. They have good profitable investment in the market.
