please note,
this is not a mandatory update, windows users seem fine at the moment.
but is for those (especially OSX and some linux users) who are running on a fork due to the overflow issue.

please check your blockheight against the explorer to see if you are forked and update as necessary

the fork occurred at block 202438
with the correct hash being 57c66f75db90e9aa59e530c046694bd73573c58e332806b7fabadd7a6cef8bd4

new release features:
updated checkpoints,
changes to the logic form which seems to fix the issue,
version /protocol numbers.

the new client number is v2222
protocol number is 60020

this fix is only a change in the reward logic ordering, with the problem at this point only seeming to affect some platforms.

v2222 must be destroyed !!!

windows users can continue with v2221 (also anyone else who did not have a problem)

will push a short term fix by setting a specific reward for the problem block,
then will look at a longer term fix to prevent further overflow issues - this should be a couple of days.

recently we discovered a fork in the xgox chain, it seems the reward logic caused an overflow error in some platforms but not all.

unfortunately we managed to push a different code to that tested, and ERRORS CREPT INTO NEW RELEASE ON GITHUB (v2222).

also finding the prev fix does not work as intended, we have pushed a simple fix that only addresses the one problem block.
WE WILL BE NEEDING TO UPDATE THE CODE BASE AGAIN IN THE NEAR FUTURE TO PREVENT ANY FUTURE EVENTS.
ideally it should only take us a few days for this to happen.

in regards to the new push:
the new client number is v2223
protocol number is 60021

there are two conditions that may require an update
1 - your clients followed the incorrect chain on to the fork and you have not updated or fixed yet
2 - your clients were updated to thursday 8th feb release (v2222 / 600020)

to be clear, the overflow error only seems to occur on some platforms so it is possible to be on old client versions and not require updating

should return a simple 222790497759893

           but.. it returns 222790497759892

My wallet seems to be working fine with a version V2.2.1. So I assume no action is needed as of now on my part. Right?

if your not, then you're in trouble

compare your block height, and also your latest blockhash against the explorer

if you update because you're out of sync but are showing the correct hash, you may be able to just download new client and restart.
if you have problems, resync from zero

and if in doubt just update

go into your xgox datadirectory,
you will delete two folders and rename one file.

delete folders : txleveldb database
rename file : blk0001.dat , change to bootstrap.dat

now when you restart you will pull the chain from the bootstrap until it hits the problem blocks, then you will sync from the network

My v2.2.1 is still working fine without any issues and the explorer also tallies the balance. So I hope I am good there.

Agreed, I can't send my coins back and can't withdraw either. Dev, can you please respond?

Idk when Cryptopia will let you withdraw your coins but if you hold them on https://stakeunited.com/ you can stake the hell out of them because it's pool staking.... I started with 9972 coins on 1/28/2017 and now on 2/14 I have 1193 and I don't even have to leave my computer on.
