Hey, guys.
Projects raise millions of dollars in ETH. Participants of the bounty campaigns significantly help them to do this.
Would it be fair if the participants will receive ETH for their work? Or 50 to 50?

Update on April 8, 2018
What would you say about this issue given the current situation in the market?

It has been a long time since the publication of this thread. It seems to me that we have a very interesting discussion here and thank you to everyone who has already expressed his opinion earlier. Let's continue the discussion and maybe we'll even come to some collective action, that will help improve the "game" rules for all ecosystem participants and probably improve the ecosystem itself.

Update on July 14, 2018
To date, we have examples of 4 projects that paid or will pay bounties in ETH (fully or partially) or conducted a poll.

- DAOstack
- LiveTREE
- Exchange Union
- GUTS Tickets (upon completion of the bounty campaign, a closed poll was held among the participants, regarding the form of payment. As a result, payments are made in GET tokens. The results of the poll have not been published yet)

p.s. If you know other examples, please share the information here, even if the bounty campaign has already ended;

PAY ATTENTION
An important thing that all bounty participants should consider, regardless of what form of payment it is, there is no need to support shitty projects or projects that carry no real value and usefulness or are a hundredth copy of the original or especially scam.

The decision should be taken from the users themselves. There should be 3 options form the user could select any one option. Getting the payment in only ETH, only tokens and both 50 - 50. This could benefit the users and the ICOs in a positive way since the flexibility in payments would drive many users to be a part of it and the managers could be then more selective towards the participation of users. If I were to organize a campaign then I would definitely implement this option. The campaign I work for has a similar option to buy back the tokens distributed. LiveTree managed by Sylon has the option where users could sell 50% of their earnings in exchange for ETH. Definitely a great idea.

My vote is no because if project become big your tokens might worth much more then few dollars worth ETH.
If not you will be holder of worthless tokens which happened to me  Grin
It is actually double edged sword.

Your offer is perfect! Must be the right to choose. And I completely agree with you that this is useful both for projects and for supporters and for the ecosystem as a whole.

p.s. Thanks for the example, I will definitely get acquainted with this project.

In my opinion it is not possible to make payment with eth for 99% of icos. Because they mostly do not have enough money so they open a crowdfund. So they mostly do not have enough ethereum to send to bounty participants.

Ethereum is a cryptocurrency which is used only to fund ICOs and create Tokens. After the funding, these project probably sell these ETH which dumps the price down. On the other hand, Ethereum is a unique concept which is revolutionary after Bitcoin itself, so the price might stay same. In addition, these token belongs to a company who have achievements to meet them in the future, and this will reflect on the token price. That's why I voted for 50/50.

it seems that if there is a bounty that offers a choice to the participants this campaign will be very interesting, because not everyone wants to get paid by ETH, depending on the person itself. but I myself prefer to be paid using ETH if I follow to be a bounty participant. but usually the ETH is only used as an ICO funding only, and of course, the average payment will use an existing token

Why not 50 to 50 in such cases? Smiley

i am not ok for paying bounty hunters with eth because it's investors money!

as investors take risk by investing their money, bounty hunters must take risk and be paid with tokens!

as bounty hunter, i do my own research before participating!

Developers will never agree on this. Because ethereum are real money, and the token price tag is invented by them and they simply give them

I think this is going to be more fair. This will be a very sensible step for both investors and users who participate in bounty campaigns. Investor confidence will increase, while those who want to advertise will be more willing.

I agree with you but look at the situation on the market, 95 % ICO down price in exit to Exchange, developers see all of this and do not want to give up their money as ethereum

That's a great route to entice more people to participate in bounties. I think this would be extremely viable for ICOs to do. Awesome post, I hope some devs can see this.

I'd rather agree with gift payments using 50% ETH and 50% token. but in my opinion the way is very complicated and not simple.
The easiest way is a payment using a token so that as a campaign participant feels the token he supports.

I've noticed some bounty campaigns are paying in BTC or ETH in addition to their tokens, but is it sometimes reserved for Hero/Legendary members.  I really like the idea.

I'm fine Ether will pay us the bounties here in the forum. Because of the very high level of Bitcoins and its price is not stable then its prices may differ. It is also a good idea to pay our ether because it is now stable in price. And the ether will rise and of course the price will increase because many people will use it

That's a really nice way to pay bounties, even the engagement in a such campaign must be higher.
I'll search for this LiveTree bounty, thanks for sharing

Sometimes when you compare what was raised on ICO and what was given to the marketing force of the ICO a.k.a Bounty hunters, you wonder if bounty hunter were deliberately been hunted! There is a lots of rip off going on with regards to payment. If an ICO  were to pay an advertisement fee on Google facebook etc. they will be coughing out a lots of dollars! Bounty should be paid in ether going foward!

I am sure that in the campaigns of ICO, when paying the bounty, they are paid either by the etherium, or half by the etherium, but by half-released tokens, or by some other acceptable options at the discretion of the participant in the campaign of generosity. In many cases, for a generous period, investors have, as a rule, dropped a significant portion of these tokens on the exchange, which leads to a decrease in the rate of almost a dozen times and tokens remain very cheap.
