IMO it can't because of unlimited ETH supply. Though it's a great coin with great features the total cap is major price mover for BTC.

Can ETH match BTC? On market cap? Probably. On price? Unlikely, but theoretically possible.
The thing though is, there's no point comparing the two. Bitcoin and Ethereum are made for two different purposes. Bitcoin as a digital currency/payment system, whereas Ethereum was made for smart contracts.

I believe that only ETH and maybe Waves are able to approach the bitcoin level. These crypto grow very well and I wish them a bright future. I'm very curious how it all ends.

Most probably never. For one reason BTC is capped and the other is not. For another and probably more importantly bitcoin has had several years of first mover advantage and this is really tough to undue. Either Ethereum must have insane breakthrough never seen before or BTC must bust in a major way, neither of which I envision happening.

Unit price wise, BTC will be ahead. However, ETH price growth may be more for a few years until all BTC are mined, at which point it would be difficult for ETH to compete with BTC.

This coin has very limited cap (42 coins in total) so the price is accordingly.

I share your opinion dude. Bitcoin has literally created the crypto world and has, is and always will stay the king of the crypto world no matter what. I strongly believe this, but I am definitely not saying ethereum is a bad investment or anything. Their blockchain feature and smart contracts feature are revolutionary and has paved the path for the introduction of many kinds of altcoins excluding scams with real life use cases. It will never catch up to bitcoin though since bitcoin's supply and demand logic works against it.

I think it can reach the market cap of Bitcoin but not the price. If Ethereum improves and it is usable for more than only ICOs it will rise. It has a strong community.

IMO it can't because of unlimited ETH supply. Though it's a great coin with great features the total cap is major price mover for BTC. What does unlimited supply mean? ETH is not unlimited in supply, just like bitcoin. They can be mined and that's the thing why their number doesn't go up synthetically. Market cap of eth can't surpass bitcoin's cap, never.

There is not given max. amount of existing coins. As long as people will mine it (or turns into POS) there will always be new coins flowing in.

What power of ETH are you talking about? ETH has been falling for a long time, it peaked @390$ back in September but just for a couple days, since then it hasn't recovered (around 298$ at the moment of this post). Also, if you've been in the crypto world for two months, you can't really say much about 'the power of ETH'. It has the second biggest market cap, but other than, ETH has been loosing power this last year. And to answer your question: No, not in a million years.

It definitely can't match it in price, because of the difference in supply, but ETH is better than BTC. Honestly, I don't know why Bitcoin is still the most popular cryptcurrency. It's a shitcoin that was outdated a few years after it launched. It's only purpose is to decentralize, but now there are many more coins that do that and much better, faster and more secure.

Well ethereum os a great crypto currency and has the some more potential to overcome bitcoins compared to other crypto currencies but actually overcoming bitcoins can be hard as bitcoins price is leagues ahead of ethereum.Bitcoins is mother of all crypto currencies and beating bitcoin's cap value, popularity and support from people would be just next to impossible for ethereum.Ethereum is falling for some time now which is most likely because of Segwit2x coming this November and this fall in market shows how bitcoins affects other coins.

Sorry, relatively new to this as well. Is Bitcoin the only one with a cap? Why wouldn't the others follow suit?

ETH Match BTC? Never,Never Winner I agree, Ethereum would have to take out all the altcoins in order to become number one. All these coins that you see is using code from Bitcoin so they would have a hard time to say that they are the most successful coin.
