Newbie needs clue: Speculate to HODL BTC or buying cheap altcoin?

-i'm not a big holder -
so i made myself a strategy to not loose what i got
bought some alts today
i think this is the best to do for now
i didn't lose fiat equivalent of the highest point reached by btc -while at 8k-..
but probably re-buying btc when when it hits his biggest drop and then HODL   
might not be the best strategy for massive gains but it will be good enough as market aint stable

I think that Altcoins should have its high tech
 and Altcoins should rise, some altcoins make its own money.

if i see today some altcoin is getting stable, but if you have not really sure i hope you to wait for correction and some information. but all decisions are in your own hands.

as practice shows, no matter what size of the party, 50% worth keeping in bitcoin, the remaining 50% to distribute among the altcoyins. You can already go quietly to the altcoyins, but you need to do this on the stairs, that hedge, if the price goes against you

If you think there is a cheap altcoin in the market why would you wait to buy?
Just buy it already. But how could you %100 sure that that altcoin is cheap? Maybe it's still overvalued? That's the question you should ask. Is it really cheap?

i think altcoins can make bigger movements in its price, but if you have many bitcoins, its good to hold the bitcoin ..
especially with all the forks happening

if you actually know what you are doing (but your question suggests that you don't) and have a knack for trading, it is a good idea to keep 50% in BTC and invest the rest in alts. otherwise make your life easy and keep it all in BTC - the BTC bull run will presumably continue until the end of the year, making investing in alts dangerous for the unexperienced ones.
