Bitcoin has been awesome and will always be awesome. We, who have been involved in Bitcoin since the very early days understand this very well. However, for the laymen, for the people who don't really understand the technical aspects of Bitcoin or those who only watch the mainstream media are skeptic about Bitcoin. Since, all they hear in the News is how Bitcoin can be used for illegal activities and how it offers complete anonymity (common misconception) to people to do what they need on Internet.

Have you ever convinced or encouraged anyone to invest in Bitcoin and did you have success? Of course, since we know that we are giving a good advice, so we would usually advice our own family members or friends about this.

In the past few months, I encouraged some of my friends to invest in Bitcoin. They had a lot of questions about it from technical perspective and I helped them understand. They invested in Bitcoin and are very happy with the returns. And now this information propagates and more people will get involved in Bitcoin.

In my humble opinion, as a Bitcoin enthusiast, we can help understand people the positive aspects of Bitcoin. The price of Bitcoin is still in the very initial stages and those of us who really understand what Bitcoin offers, know that Bitcoin Price is only 1/10th of what it's worth right now.

What are the most common responses you get from laymen about investing in Bitcoin?

Some popular ones I receive are:

1. "Oh, it's already too expensive, I cannot afford to buy it."
2. "The governments don't regulate it, why should I invest in it?"
3. "It's an illegal currency and only cyber criminals use it."
4. "What backs up Bitcoin? For example US Dollar is backed by Trust (all time favorite response Cheesy), but what backs up Bitcoin?"
5. "The market is way too volatile to invest."
6. "You can't really use Bitcoin as a currency."

No.  Suggesting investments to people is a bad idea, especially when it's something so risky and volatile.  Whether or not they claim to be okay with losing their money in the worst circumstances, most people would care a lot if it went wrong and it would result in a lot of resentment towards you.  The effect of you making a suggestion which turned out poorly is much more serious than the effect of you making a suggestion that turned out well.
The price of Bitcoin is still in the very initial stages and those of us who really understand what Bitcoin offers, know that Bitcoin Price is only 1/10th of what it's worth right now.
This is an extremely naive suggestion and is not based on any reasonable logic.  The price should be based on how BTC is actually doing, not rabid speculation.
6. "You can't really use Bitcoin as a currency."
To rephrase this into a good argument: "You can't use Bitcoin as a currency as much as you should be able to with a price as high as it currently is".  It's not that you can't use BTC, it's that a significant amount of holders don't.

Well, I tried but was unsuccessful. That was late 2016, BTC was around $700 then and now, late 2017 it's at $6600 (record price 01-Nov-2017).
He has since mid 2017, when BTC hit $3000 kept bugging me blaming me for not trying enough.
He's still hesitant, waiting for a good price to buy.

By the way, he's a programmer.

I tried to encourage rather than convince people to invest in bitcoin and I can count quite an amount of people who have been involved directly or indirectly with bitcoin because of my actions. The reason why I decide to stick to encourage part is because of the uncertainty that surrounds bitcoin and people would only want a something that would guarantee return for them which is something anyone involved with right amount of information will not commit himself to.

But with my actions in the area of websites I visit, blogs I read, visiting the forum, crypto trading site and much more. This made people close to me aware then those who will act on it will then start their research then ask questions in places that are not clear.

Yes it's true.
Some days, I continue to analyze bitcoin development, the development of bitcoin is amazing, in terms of bitcoin flucutuation always pointing up.
Already 2 weeks, I always recommend to them especially my friend to invest in bitcoin. because, I heard an issue in a site that says "China will reenter in bitcoin trading".
True or not, I myself still looking for information related to the issue.

The most common response is:
Crazy !, very expensive, this isn`t the right time to buy, why not from the first, I invest bitcoin.

I have talked to people about Bitcoin but I did not convince or encourage them to invest in Bitcoin. I do not want to be blamed when they lose money even though it will be their own fault. So just to be on the safe side I do not encourage them. I am just introducing Bitcoin to them, what Bitcoin is, some basic stuffs Bitcoin can do and some benefits when you have Bitcoin and use Bitcoin. The are all hooked because of the price but I think they haven't invested yet. Maybe because Bitcoin is not that popular here in our country.

Yes I did encouraged people especially my closed friends to invest in bitcoin but most of them are not interested becauase they dont have idea what is bitcoin ,how it works and no knowledge about bitcoin market. Some are encouraged and already invested in crypto and following this forum .

Most response I received to them are;

- I dont have time to study bitcoin
- I am doubtful to spend my money in bitcoin. I dont have trust!
- its a ponzi scheme
- its a scam

No matter what ,i'll respect their thoughts about bitcoin. Maybe there are reasons why they came up with that response to me. Its all misconception about bitcoin.

No. Although I've informed some people about the oppertunities and dangers of the cryptomarket. My boss at work was euphoric over the fact she managed to make 7% profit in the timespan of six months with her investment in stocks. I informed her it is possible to make 7% profit with Bitcoin in minutes, but at the same time said it is also possible to lose the same percentage in the blink of an eye. As mentioned by several persons above me, convincing people to invest into BTC could eventually turn nasty when values plummet.

I encouraged my a couple of my friends recently to check out the crypto world and they fell in love with it immediately. Initially, they were overwhelmed by the technical aspects, but they are learning slowly and are asking me so many questions on a regular basis. I feel great for helping them learn about the basics of the crypto industry.

I finally persuaded 5 of my work colleagues to get some bitcoin even if it was a small amount, after me going on about it every so often and the news we have seen this year which has been pretty positive they finally jumped in, they are quite happy now and kind of wish they listened a bit earlier but we still have a long way to go chaps.

Yes, i have already encouraged to other people invest in bitcoin. Its a good result they believe immediately, its so easy and no difficult when i convince because they become more interested and they don't even think negative when i convince. It was success when i introduce bitcoin because when they heard they want to start also as soon how to invest. Because those people believe that bitcoin is a good opportunity to the people, especially who want to invest and earn in bitcoin.

Yes I've already try to convince some of my family members and closest friends to invest in Bitcoin because I see a great potential on it as an investment nowadays but nobody even tries and that is not my loss though as I try my best to explain to them that is is worthy. They always think twice about investing on it and seeing it as an intangible asset is so impossible for them to deal with, I will not get any money from them or any kind of percentage with their investment though if they will really do invest and still they are so skeptical to do it.

As on my experience , i have only ine friend who i convinced and encourage to invest bitcoin for now. Because spreading of bitcoin knowledge is really difficult. Others do not believe what the bitcoin and the benefits of it. They think its just a easte of time and scam they don't believe because when i talked to them about it i was an begginer but now i'll show them a proof . and now one of my friend inveat it. Now he is in this forum to make earning more to bitcoin

I always hear something along the lines of 1, 4, and/or 5:

1. "Oh, it's already too expensive, I cannot afford to buy it."

4. "What backs up Bitcoin? For example US Dollar is backed by Trust (all time favorite response Cheesy), but what backs up Bitcoin?"

5. "The market is way too volatile to invest."

I have convinced my brother thus far. He's still a little skeptic, but I can tell it's growing on him. I don't actively preach about Bitcoin though. I speak about it with my friends when it comes up, but it's usually just in passing. I don't elaborate unless they explicitly ask about it, and those comments you mentioned aren't too uncommon in my experience.

By far the most common one I get though, is "Isn't it a bubble?" I can't really blame them with some well known authorities calling it as such, so I just dismiss it by saying it's not going to pop anytime soon. If they really want to invest, they'll do their own research.

Yes, I constantly encourage people to invest in Bitcoin. On Sunday I spoke to a friend of a friend and he bought in on Monday. He phoned me now and told me that he sold again. < He could not believe that the price could increase with that margin and he was scared that it was going to collapse > He made very good profits in about 3 days.

People are not used to Bitcoin's volatility, so they tend to panic very quickly and then make wrong trading decisions. I always tell them to buy low and to sell high and also to try to get a return on their investment first.

same here i also get these responses why i try to convince someone about bitcoins but they'll keep on saying that bitcoin is a big joke and scam that it is impossible to make money on it because its online though some of my friends are and relatives are already convined about bitcoin just because they can see me everyday doing my daily activities here in the forum and outside the web and i guess people would actually believe in it if they can see an actuall proof like showing them your bitcoin wallet with bitcoins in it or your withdrawal/cash out reciept.

I only convince them to learn about bitcoin and not on investing because even I do fully believe in bitcoin potentials and future,, I always not take the risk of our friendship with an misunderstanding about money.. I’ll let them discovered them for themselves for we can’t even forced them to do so.. Giving them examples and giving hint is the less that I can do.. And they already manage to do it on they’re own..
