Bitcoin has been awesome and will always be awesome. We, who have been involved in Bitcoin since the very early days understand this very well. However, for the laymen, for the people who don't really understand the technical aspects of Bitcoin or those who only watch the mainstream media are skeptic about Bitcoin. Since, all they hear in the News is how Bitcoin can be used for illegal activities and how it offers complete anonymity (common misconception) to people to do what they need on Internet.

Have you ever convinced or encouraged anyone to invest in Bitcoin and did you have success? Of course, since we know that we are giving a good advice, so we would usually advice our own family members or friends about this.

In the past few months, I encouraged some of my friends to invest in Bitcoin. They had a lot of questions about it from technical perspective and I helped them understand. They invested in Bitcoin and are very happy with the returns. And now this information propagates and more people will get involved in Bitcoin.

In my humble opinion, as a Bitcoin enthusiast, we can help understand people the positive aspects of Bitcoin. The price of Bitcoin is still in the very initial stages and those of us who really understand what Bitcoin offers, know that Bitcoin Price is only 1/10th of what it's worth right now.

What are the most common responses you get from laymen about investing in Bitcoin?

Some popular ones I receive are:

1. "Oh, it's already too expensive, I cannot afford to buy it."
2. "The governments don't regulate it, why should I invest in it?"
3. "It's an illegal currency and only cyber criminals use it."
4. "What backs up Bitcoin? For example US Dollar is backed by Trust (all time favorite response Cheesy), but what backs up Bitcoin?"
5. "The market is way too volatile to invest."
6. "You can't really use Bitcoin as a currency."
Those lines you did mention are common and would definitely being said by most people who you do tried out to explain or convince someone.Sometimes it is really frustrating and I do lose my temper on explaining things but ended up on having a useless conversation and you did actually waste your time on explaining to someone doesn't really have any interest at all.Going back in the past I did really tend to tell it to other people but all of those people did reject me that's why I don't really care for now.

I tried a lot in persuading someone to invest in Bitcoin and they almost denied the investment opportunity. Because, they misunderstood Bitcoin, they thought it was a virtual currency, it was illegal, the market was volatile and there were many illegal happenings with Bitcoin. Besides, the most important thing that they do not invest in Bitcoin is that it is too expensive and almost people can not afford it.

Yes I've already done that but he is not interested. It is very tough to teach a person if he/she is not interested to it. No matter how good teacher you are as long as your student is not intersted then he will not learn. But sometimes there are people who ask me how it works and I am glad to teach those people who is willing to learn.

I try to encourage people to start to invest in bitcoin I also get nearly the same responses.
I think most people that are already interested in bitcoin know that it is hard to get people to even consider investing in bitcoin if they are not interested.

I already encourage my family members, friends and even friends from social media sites but what they always  says to me is that " we cant afford to invest cause the price of bitcoin is so high " the only ones who can invest to bitcoins are traders, company  investors and multi millionaires.

Yup i tried to convinced and encouraged some of my friends and relatives to invest on bitcoin. I explained and shared my knowledge to them but most of them refused maybe they are skeptical to invest and some have no funds. But one Aunt just bought bitcoin recently she wanted to tried it because she saw that there is potential in bitcoin.

I dare not convince someone about investing in bitcoin. People came to me to find out more about bitcoin and what risks might occur. 1 in 3 people who ask feel confident and have started buying bitcoin when it costs about $ 5000. and 2 people prefer to invest in gold,
Because he thinks more safe and less risky than bitcoin whose price is very fast changing.

It is a very difficult decision to make when it comes to advice someone to invest in Bitcoin. I don't do that often. I promote Bitcoin almost everyday. I talk to people about it, i try to help them out and etc. investment is something different. I truly believe in Bitcoin, and i know current economic model will collapse sooner or later. So this makes me feel like i should warn my close friends. However, it is risky.

6. "You can't really use Bitcoin as a currency."

Not really, many people are quite pessimistic and thinks of bitcoin quite negatively saying that it is a scam or some sort of a scheme to defraud people. So, instead of encouraging people, I do it the other way around, if they come to me and ask about it which shows their eagerness to learn, then I do share it with them. However, if they are not interested from the start then why bother, right?

No.  Suggesting investments to people is a bad idea, especially when it's something so risky and volatile.  Whether or not they claim to be okay with losing their money in the worst circumstances, most people would care a lot if it went wrong and it would result in a lot of resentment towards you.  The effect of you making a suggestion which turned out poorly is much more serious than the effect of you making a suggestion that turned out well.
The price of Bitcoin is still in the very initial stages and those of us who really understand what Bitcoin offers, know that Bitcoin Price is only 1/10th of what it's worth right now.
This is an extremely naive suggestion and is not based on any reasonable logic.  The price should be based on how BTC is actually doing, not rabid speculation.
6. "You can't really use Bitcoin as a currency."
To rephrase this into a good argument: "You can't use Bitcoin as a currency as much as you should be able to with a price as high as it currently is".  It's not that you can't use BTC, it's that a significant amount of holders don't.

No, actually my mentor here told me that it's not for everyone. He told me that it's not for people who are not open to having a change in the market system, and it would just be too difficult to teach someone who is not interested in the first place. I remember when I asked him about it, he said that before he would explain, I must tell him why he should continue teaching me the basics and some advanced ins and outs.

No, I never did it and I'm not going to. Bitcoin certainly grows and will grow, but it can be for the time being. Forcing a person to invest and if suddenly bitcoin will be covered and this person will lose money because of me, what then? Therefore, each person has his own head on his shoulders. Just sometimes consulting people who has questions about bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies, but that's all.

Late 2015 me and my friend started talking about crypto currency things. I first introduce him the bitcoin and how can we invest our fiat money to convert it to coins by just hodling it for long term. Sadly i cant convince him and i am the only one who push the investment in bitcoin. Now when we remember those day i simply smile at him because he didnt respond to my life changing opportunity Smiley

I am always willing to educate people about it but I would never try to make the decision for them or even overly influence their decision. The best thing you can do is educate and leave the decision entirely in their own hands. That's not just for Bitcoin, all financial decisions must be made by the individual themselves.

Congrats on succeeding and believing on bitcoin since we all know that bitcoin's price can be volatile but it never let us down even with all the event and false accusations to it and it still keeps standing on it's own. I hope this will never change and keep continuing for years to come.
Anyway, I haven't convince someone yet to invest on bitcoin but rather I invite them to join bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies and start earning and currently we are earning some decent amount.
