Even in the event that an attacker gains more than 50% of the network's computational power, only transactions sent by the attacker could be reversed or double-spent. The network would not be destroyed.

I'm pretty new to this, and after researching a bit, I feel like ETH is going places and has far fewer barriers to expansion that BTC. I want to buy and hold some coins, and as of now i'm leaning towards ETH. but I can't ignore the fact that bitcoin seems like top dog still... so convince me to buy BTC instead of eth. Give a reason besides "first movers advantage" Tongue

Why risk putting all your eggs in one basket? Invest in both. ETH's potential is definitely big, but I don't see it equalling BTCs price anytime soon. Depending on your capital, you might also want to consider investing in a few other top altcoins. The crypto market is too volatile, so diversification is key in any portfolio.

There is so much talk about the advantages of bitcoin that this has become its main advantage. Attention provides for the purchase, purchase price growth, prices rise and the opportunity to obtain passive income. Bitcoin has significant advantages:

Banks, business sharks and large investors are already behind the most important cryptocurrency. This eliminates the chance of a one-time devaluation: bitcoin can already be considered a reliable asset.
Working with bitcoin coins is easier: almost all exchanges, trading platforms and even payment systems have added it to the list of assets. This simplifies the transaction of the ability to buy and sell and also transfer to Fiat money.
Terminals for” cashing out " bitcoin-is not uncommon. On the Internet, this cryptocurrency is accepted by many services and even online stores.
The economic model of bitcoin, which initially limits the total amount of coins, works for miners. There will be no overabundance of the resource, that is, the cost reduction due to saturation will not occur. Withdrawal from circulation of "lost" keys will increase the deficit and thereby increase the cost.

Through an investor point of view, I believe that both the coins have a good scope and potential to grow in terms of user base and price in the coming years but I am expecting high from Bitcoin as is the alternative option for the fiat currency in a fund transfer industry that is here since many centuries. On the other hand, ETH is a solution for the agreements through automation and that has a growth potential in Industry 4.0 which is yet to develop and it will comparatively take higher time as compared to that of Bitcoin's growth in my opinion. Still, do your own research before making any investment decision.

Bitcoin has a very good level of trust so we can get a sense of security and comfort in investing Bitcoin. In contrast to other coins including ETherum, Bitcoin gained excellent support by the government and there have been several countries that expressed support for Bitcoin. This can be a plus because Bitcoin is getting easier to use in every financial transaction.

ETH is not really bad investment, in fact it is the second highest rate next to bitcoin. BTC though has the highest rate investment that is out now. Slightly predictable with its graph in rate, and very profitable. If you want to play it safe try ETH but if you want higher profit and same risks you should go with BTC since it is the highest value it also gives you highest profit possible. All in all you can invest into both there's no argument about that.

Many people are tempted to buy BTC because it has been around for a long time and is trusted and used by many investors. BTC's prices are the highest in the cryptocurrency market. This is why many people recommend buying BTC because it brings a lot of profit in the future.

Learn about the BTC and ETH. After you feel you’ve acquired some basic education it’s time to answer this question - what is better to buy. Remember – only you can answer this. You can consult others and read online but never follow someone’s advice blindly.

That is a rather easy question. Bitcoin is truly decentralised as we don't know who Satoshi Nakamoto really is while we know the creator of Ethereum. That is not really an advantage but I consider it more secure when you don't know the identity of the creator rather than when you know it.

Bitcoin is widely accepted in casinos, websites, amazon and many other places while Ethereum is not that widely accepted although it is doing well as of lately.

Bitcoin price can spike more than the price of Ethereum can, we come back to the first argument, the creator may limit this upside while in Bitcoin no one can limit it.

Bitcoin wallets generally are more safe than Ethereum ones unless you have a hardware wallet as Ledger Nano which is safe for both.
