Ever since I've seen bitcoins price went from $1000-$5000, only this year, Ive never really got that surprised anymore. In my mind, bitcoin is already capable of doing such a thing, like increasing its price from roof to the moon. If it hits $20,000 within next year, I think I wouldn't be that surprised as well.

I am not surprised at all. This is expected scenario and BTC can reach 10 000$ price before April 2018. I am not saying that it is based on the best technology (some other coins are more advanced), but btc network is best known, already implemented. People are just more used to Btc than some other coins.

I'm not surprised as Bitcoin is gaining popularity, more and more people are investing and apparently the fork that was cancelled is apparently coming again, so everyone wants free coins.

And yes I am surprised as Bitcoin is in fact crap, because of the difficulty level only chinese miners with specialised equipment can still mine.
Transaction times are > 30minutes and the fees are crazy high.
There should be a new coin that stays minable with normal equipment has extremely fast transaction times and low fees.
With transaction times of 30m it will not be a viable payment method in normal stores.
