UPDATE: All coins now sold out, thanks everybody!

UPDATE: Coins now in stock, see photo below! Specifications and more photos in the second post below.

Hi, I decided to order the following new aluminium Casascius coins (ignore the gold-coloured one): https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=204662.0

Some nice customer photos courtesy of HowGudAmI here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=235000.msg2542939#msg2542939

They do not have any denomination, say They say "Strenght in Numbers" on the obverse and have plain reverse.

I ordered two bags (~1000 coins) at 3.7BTC including FedEx shipping to the UK. I'm not sure what the lead time is - I would expect about a couple of weeks. I will post an update when I know more.
I'm not looking to turn in profit, merely make these more accessible in EU and build some rep here on the forums Smiley

I'm offering these in lots of 10 coins at 0.04BTC per lot.

Coins sold: 900 / Coins available: 0

Shipping via Royal Mail Letter (UK: 1-2 days, EU: 3-5 days, WW: 5-7 days):
  • UK:  0.010BTC for up to 5 lots (50 coins), 0.02BTC for over 50 coins
  • EU:  0.025BTC for up to 5 lots (50 coins), 0.05BTC for over 50 coins
  • WW: 0.040BTC for up to 5 lots (50 coins), 0.06BTC for over 50 coins

I aim to ship orders within 24 hours.

Payment address: 1NYJtdatXoW6E2Rtj1FMH7kNosxze8BJG1

If you're interested please send a payment of (number of lots of 10 coins) * 0.04BTC + shipping to the above address.
Please only pay from address you control to be able to prove ownership of address in case of disputes.

Then post here with the following info:
forum username ; number of lots ; UK or EU or WW ; amount of BTC paid ; sending bitcoin address

And also PM me your postal address please.

I will try to make some QR stickers to stick on the reverse to be able to load them with small amounts (like 0.01BTC) for promotional purposes - tip or handouts - like this guy did:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=204662.msg2354899#msg2354899

Update (20 June):

I was waiting for a shipping confirmation from Casascius so I was quite surprised to receive a fairly heavy USPS box this morning Smiley

Better pictures coming this evening.

Specifications:

The coins are 1.25" (31.75mm) in diameter, quite thin at 0.06" (1.5mm) and very light.

They are quite shiny with a good mirror finish on the obverse. Not all are perfect (some have slight scratches and imperfections around the edges) however as promotional tokens they are great, especially at the price!

More pictures of the actual coins I received:

These are nice, any chance you could use the hologram stickers or similar?

I would buy 20 or so to hand out to friends and family to get them into bitcoin.

Awesome. I was literally going to do this next week. I'll take 200 if you don't mind. I'm UK based.

I'll pay next Wednesday or Thursday if that's alright with you. I just have a pretty busy week coming up.

Also if this is really popular I don't want to be taking any away from anyone else so I'd settle for 100. 50 if I was really pushed but then I might just buy a bag for myself.

Lurking since 2011...

I think they are the same size as the brass coins, so technically you could use the standard hologram. I will try to obtain a few holograms.
However, I'm not sure it's worth it for the small denominations these are aimed at - I'm planning to put private key in QR code on the reverse as pictured in OP.

Cheers. I found a supply of round 29mm diameter white sticky labels on A4 sheets (54 per sheet) for a reasonable price so I'll be ordering those to send out with the coins. It will be possible to print QR codes with private keys on them fairly easily. I will try to develop a simple program to generate a PDF with QR codes and output a list of addresses.

Thanks for pointing that thread out - that's great Smiley Somebody will probably do a much better job than I would be able to Wink On the other hand it's a pity I won't have to do bitcoin related coding... I was kind of looking forward to it.

On a related note, I found silver round sticky labels - I only found 25mm diameter (1") ones but I think they would look better than white ones:

They look good. They don't say they're compatible with inkjet printers but I'm sure they'll work alright with them.

Well, I wouldn't really want to print with ink on the labels... Laser will probably be much more durable.
