BitCoin Is Too Complicated for Average People!

It is still complicated for average person, in particular if you start to talk about address, mining, confirmation time etc. I think that's the next big step for people, easy to buy, easy to own and easy to use just like fiat.

For every great opportunity comes great risk and for every road to success there must be an obstacle. The only thing I see in people that give up so easily on bitcoin due to the little stress of buying and selling bitcoin through exchange will be left behind sooner or later.

An average user doesn't need to know all this. Don't allow their first experience with cryptocurrency to be techno babble or a political talk how banks are abusing us and we and to be free. This will only scare people off.
Do you think an average woman knows how a car engine works or the difference between a gas engine and a diesel? Yet, she has no problems with driving to work every day!

It is true that bitcoin may seem complicated when one just starts in this ecosystem, but it does not take too much education to understand how one can use bitcoin in personal finances. Currently a large part of the economically active population has access to smartphones whose use is more complex than the applications used to operate with bitcoin, so I do not think it is too difficult for ordinary people to get used to incorporating bitcoin into their everyday lives.

Well, I think it is indeed too much complicated and harder to use, you have to have knowledge about how it works on internet. You have to make an account, buy bitcoin from different sites ( which takes 5% to 7% Fees) then transfer to exchanges for trading or to use.

How can a normal people, who usually watch youtube video, use fb or other social media, you expect him/her to know all these things? I seen people give up easily, and think it's too techy.

I believe if Bitcoin sell coins on their official website, with lower fees, such as 1% to 2%, and make  a simple wallet for people to use, more & more people would buy and use it.

When you use Bank or Online banking, If you have any problem, you can actually go to branch or call the customer service fix the problem, Bitcoin have no phone number, no branch, no one to contact if anything goes wrong.

The desktop wallet are too complicated to use, it has some weird functionality, such as MEW, every time you login, you have to use key chain, or a file as your private key and password, when you get a get it doesn't not show on your account, you actually have to add custom, which is really confusing sometimes. And i always hear people ger hacked, their balanced is gone. which is really scary after all these security in your wallet? strange!

Bitcoin does not have their own official site, so lots of people visit other junk/spam/hacking site, think it is bitcoin site and can get help.

It's really hard to buy bitcoin in certain country, such as Canada. Yes i know you can buy from coin base, but they do not allow more than $100 bitcoin per week, and we are not allowed to sell. Lots of people other thread offered local bitcoin, but when bitcoin price is $6800, they sell it on $7800, That's $1000 extra plus 5% fees of the amount. Why people have to pay that much money extra to buy bitcoin? why don't they have an official site, where you can buy in current price?

Why most of the exchange does not allow you to buy bitcoin with USD? 99% time you have to transfer money to exchange to do trading or to buy alt coin, which is really a headache. So you tell me, all these problem, why would a normal average people, who doesn't have enough time will invest bitcoin or any other coin? This is rea reason i believe we see the market cap in crypto currency under $200 billion. If it was easy to use, for normal people it would have jump to Trillion dollar.

1. You can expect them to know these things you can watch youtube video for a week straight on bitcoin and have enough knowledge to move forward comfortably. This is a terrible excuse for the lazy.
2. No, dont need bitcoin website to officially sell them people can do their own due diligence or bugger off.
3. Use MEW, but also use hardware wallet and most if not all of your problems are gone. If you are serious about crypto you have a hardware wallet it is a no brainer.
4. People pay that much because either they are stupid or dont know where to buy them, either way they are going to get fleeced long term anyhow. If they cant research they deserve the fleecing.
5. I have yet to see an exchange that does not offer bitcoin in USD, all the major ones have a BTC USD pairing and would be shocked if there was not one at any of the major top 5 exchanges.

Some of bitcoins attributes are surely inconvinient, and a tad bit clunky to work with, but they are a very small part of what makes cryptocurrencies work and really the hassle with dealing with them is not as bad as you present them. Another thing to remember is that the concept of bitcoin isn't hard to grasp. Only really old people might have a problem with this, and if one understands basic economics enough then it's really not deep, it's the same with normal currencies, just with a few key differences.

Unfortunately, yes bitcoin is a bit complicated for people that are not familiar with internet. It takes a minimum of internet skills to be a part of bitcoin communty and to have access to all the news and actualities that come up everyday. And the most important things that a person should have to understand and be part it is the desire. We all know how people like to spend their whole free time entertaining themselves or just chilling while using social media apps. They don't even want to bother themselves and wonder what bitcoin is and what can it add to their lives.

For beginners it's hard to know bitcoin, they think it's just a monopoly. But it's up to them, gradually they will realize how useful bitcoin like the internet.

same story like mine, I regret because in 2013 when I come to know about bitcoin I consider it as a monopoly for gathering money. But gradually when I make account in this forum Then i come to know that bitcoin is huge future asset for investors and holders. So i suggest newbies to never underestimate the value of bitcoin.

As far as an individual is eager to learn and adopt new things there will be no exceptions. Yeah when someone just scan the white paper of bitcoin it will look likes a total mess for him as he doesn't have any idea but when he study and see things differently it will be all easy. I mean even you're an average person here you can still learn all these things, it just need patience, willingness, time and effort as I always believe that everything can be achieve if you have great perspective and outlook in life.
Bitcoin will always be an interesting as it should be, how it change the present and the future of currency and this great invention should be known by everyone.

Looks like other are having problem buying bitcoin, here in asia we buy bitcoins via banks or we can buy bitcoin thru 7/11 its easier to buy bitcoin. well it depends on the country where we belong there are place of the world that hard to find bitcoin but in localbitcoin its easy to access or deal with them, try to look other local wallet provider if the rate is low then try to grab it

There are some imple way for use the bitcoin, just download the mobile wallet and you will be able to generate the bitcoin address and you can use it to send or receive the bitcoin.
it seems to be a simple thing or step in my opinion.
But to learn about the how crypto works is really fun.

You are right but still in the starting newbies faces much problem of the understanding Because coin is not a way to direct use where we can see directly the use of the cryptocurrency .
But to make the bitcoin investment needed to buy another coin and vice versa , such types of things are really complicated to understand that how we will do easily ( since easy much for the 1 month old bitcoiner )  .
Here I was facing the same problem and my big problem was that , who will give the gaurranty of the value of the bitcoin that I have and what the best way to work to make bitcoin .
Well in the current time Many articles are available for the bitcoin where we can get better knowledge easily and can learn better better stretagy to handle the trading like work ( which are legimate way of making money ) .

You don't need to understand anything about how money issued.  You have a note or coin and exchange it, job done. 

Bitcoin has significant usability problem for a new user.  To use you need to understand wallets (web based or desktop, keep offline?), keys, passwords, passphrases, fees, random address strings.  oh yes, once you've got everything set up you might consider it simple, but if people are saying otherwise you need to consider that it is not, you found it simple. 

There's a rule in usability that the interface shouldn't get in the way, and bitcoin involves a lot of interface.

a simple problem is since children we raised by regular physical money by the banking system, then curiosity came we learn how the money created, distributed and controlled so we indirectly get used to it because it had proof and sustainable since past. Then a new revolutionary digital currency bitcoin came in, we didn't get used to it, its something news, a decentralized currency based on technology, people astonished by bitcoin because they don't understand the technology so they easily get FUD, uncomfortable, they didn't want to try something out of the box, they want safer option. So that's my opinion why bitcoin not widely used.

As easy as downloading an app from a google store and in many wallets keys are being saved in the cloud, you just need to remember your recovery phrases.
Millions of people are downloading stuff on their phones every day. Millions are scanning qr codes. Bitcoin isn't difficult if you're used to doing these basic things!

I would argue with that. Online banking offers a similar difficulty level. You need to set up an account, remember your login and passphrase, know how to handle 2FA codes, know how to use the API. My bank API is like a decent webpage, it offers a ton of stuff starting from savings accounts through credit card limits and ending with online credits that you can take on the fly and people are handling it without problems.

You don't need to be the smartest person in the world to be able to download a wallet to your phone and use the camera to scan qr code every time you want to pay. When you want to receive money your code will appear on your screen along with the address. You just can't screw this up!
