Well, I think it is indeed too much complicated and harder to use, you have to have knowledge about how it works on internet. You have to make an account, buy bitcoin from different sites ( which takes 5% to 7% Fees) then transfer to exchanges for trading or to use.

How can a normal people, who usually watch youtube video, use fb or other social media, you expect him/her to know all these things? I seen people give up easily, and think it's too techy.

I believe if Bitcoin sell coins on their official website, with lower fees, such as 1% to 2%, and make  a simple wallet for people to use, more & more people would buy and use it.
What is your opinion on it? discuss..

When you use Bank or Online banking, If you have any problem, you can actually go to branch or call the customer service fix the problem, Bitcoin have no phone number, no branch, no one to contact if anything goes wrong.

The desktop wallet are too complicated to use, it has some weird functionality, such as MEW, every time you login, you have to use key chain, or a file as your private key and password, when you get a get it doesn't not show on your account, you actually have to add custom, which is really confusing sometimes. And i always hear people ger hacked, their balanced is gone. which is really scary after all these security in your wallet? strange!

Bitcoin does not have their own official site, so lots of people visit other junk/spam/hacking site, think it is bitcoin site and can get help.

It's really hard to buy bitcoin in certain country, such as Canada. Yes i know you can buy from coin base, but they do not allow more than $100 bitcoin per week, and we are not allowed to sell. Lots of people other thread offered local bitcoin, but when bitcoin price is $6800, they sell it on $7800, That's $1000 extra plus 5% fees of the amount. Why people have to pay that much money extra to buy bitcoin? why don't they have an official site, where you can buy in current price?

Why most of the exchange does not allow you to buy bitcoin with USD? 99% time you have to transfer money to exchange to do trading or to buy alt coin, which is really a headache. So you tell me, all these problem, why would a normal average people, who doesn't have enough time will invest bitcoin or any other coin? This is rea reason i believe we see the market cap in crypto currency under $200 billion. If it was easy to use, for normal people it would have jump to Trillion dollar.

I don't agree with you, i don't this its complicated. For those people who think its complicated they're lazy enough. They're easy give up without testing it. About making account and fee. Its a part of bitcoin you have pay fee. There's nothing free in this world . In order to gain you have to lost something .

Well, not every one has to agree with me. It was my opinion only, but I hope Fairx & Robin hood interface will be easy to use, so any people without any crypto experience can buy bitcoin easily. 2018 looks bright as many more company coming forwards with revolutionary idea.

Even in the event that an attacker gains more than 50% of the network's computational power, only transactions sent by the attacker could be reversed or double-spent. The network would not be destroyed.

Complicated or not depends on each person. Everyone has different abilities, cannot be equally levelled. Based on my experience, I used to think cryptocurrency is quite complicated, but after learning and asking a lot, I found a bright spot. Experience is the best teacher.
For people who are laymen of technological developments will surely consider this very complicated.

I agree that bitcoin is too complicated for the average person, but that over time cryptocurrencies will be made more user-friendly. Right now we are in the early stage of the technology in which security and a functioning blockchain are emphasized.

All cryptos are too complicated for average people, both for understanding how they function, and for understanding ho to actually use the,. This creates some adoption problem. I guess adoption rate will explode only once we will have very user friendly interfaces for mainstream users.

It is quite complicated because you need to understand deeply what it is all about. Need to have more knowledge and patience in understanding how it works and how to do with it. But little by little as you learn to understand and appreciate the whole crypto currency its amazing and its easy to do. Just to be open minded and the willingness to learn is very imporatnt for you to be more productive and profitable in the future. For us to gain we need to work harder no matter how hard or complicated the situation is just keep on pushing and trying.

Yes it's really hard at first. When I just started using bitcoins, I found it really complicated since there's a lot of things that I need to know to fully understand it. What I did was just self study, I researched on google, watch videos on youtube and then I found this forum. Learning bitcoin isn't an easy task, you they just need perseverance in researching and courage when making their first transactions.

Despite his asceticism towards bitcoin as an independent currency, experts believe that digitalized forms of money will replace current fiat-based financial systems. However, here’s the problem with Bitcoin; it’s just like any emerging technology. The technology here isn’t Bitcoin, it’s digital currency. And with any emerging technology, the first few attempts are gonna have some problems. It is number one, too complex for the average individual. The blockchain mining of coins is becoming increasingly expensive… We can talk forever about the intricate technical problems or lack of such. But from my personal opinion, I think the electronic currency will be Bitcoin. Honesty, there will be an electronic currency, that I promise you. And if it’s Bitcoin, great. I just don’t think it will be.” One main concept of Bitcoin which the general population fail to embrace is its decentralized and transparent nature. The Bitcoin blockchain network, a peer to peer network is secured and maintained by millions of miners around the world. Which means, the network does not require the existence of central authorities or third party applications and mediators to revoke, restrict and alter transactions or activities on the network.

I remebered how I introduced bitcoin to my parents. the thing is, they were wondering from where did we get our funds from, and i said, from doing jobs in bitcoin forum. They asked more questions regarding this and I really did not know how to explain it in simple terms. I just said that bitcoin is a kind of currency in the digital aspect. in the physical world, we use paper fiat for payment, in the digital world, we use bitcoin. in the forum, we are paid in bitcoin for promoting ads (campaign) that my friend, made them understand (at least somehow) how bitcoin works and how we earn from it.
Just teach old folks  based on their level of understanding, be patient with them and also analogy works!

That's nice story! I like it. If I can just give you merit for
this. Thank you.

Let me tell you another story. The father of my friend just got in
to trading because my friend told his father that bitcoin is like
a bank wherein your money grows over time.

maybe they feel too complicated because they think that they need to understand and need to learn about blockchain and how to make the transaction and how much about the fee. this is normal because if they want to learn more about bitcoin, I am sure that in the end, they don't feel that bitcoin is too complicated to them and I am sure that they will learn more because they are interesting with bitcoin. maybe they will get difficult for the first time and as long as we can explaining to them, they will not feel like that anymore.

I think this will depend on how deep you want to go in to it.. of course you need some basic knowledge but the deeper you go in it the more complicated it gets.

Agree with the OP, it is hard to start purchasing alt currencies not just bitcoin, the wallets are to new starter off putting at best and confusing at worst.

If you lose your passphrase your F**cked, why is there no reset pass?, not really thought about it, but yes OP is correct No official Bitcoin site was a easy play for the scammers to swoop on.

If a Alt currency wasn't to get mass adoption, make it easy for the masses to adopt, Ripple is overly complicated to purchase, could easily have just had a button fund wallet, add the required 30 XRP to fund the wallet, instead there is some link to dodgy arse looking site in Romania, upload your ID, F**k that.

Fees fees every time you blink someone is taking a slice of your investment.

Mass adoption would increase the value exponentially, which is surely a good thing.

It is very clear that your interest matters a lot. If you are not interested in something or are not willing to understand it, no matter how simple and easy it is, you would not be getting it.

Even if the concept is really very complicated and you are unable to understand it in the first attempt, your keen interest motivates you for working hard to get the basic concept. This lady is already doing a good job so I don’t think so she has taken any keen interest in it.

I strongly disagree to say that bitcoin is too complicated. There are many services that make it easy to buy and use Bitcoin. Signing up with Coinbase or Gemini is no more difficult than getting accounts elsewhere, and linking bank accounts to them is no different than setting up automatic payments for things like mortgage bills.

This is very complicated to a non internet user who only live using tv and cellphone but not on a user who always watch youtube and using social media. If a people is eager to learn there will be so many ways. There are so many tutorials videos in youtube on how bitcoin works and how to make bitcoin. If you want to avoid high fees in buying or selling bitcoin you need to find people and make a transaction face to face.

You have the best idea, most of the best knowledge we earn is through internet by searching on google or search engines or any social medias, without the internet, cryptocurrency will never exist and we will all be having a hard time to learn about mining or any stuff that is connected to cryptocurrency.

For me based on my experience, it is not that complicated. But I really put time and effort to learn more about it. It's not gonna be that easy epsecially for first timers but then if you are eager to learn and really want to know and excel on something that you will equip yourself to be able to use it and maximize its portential for your life. I am not a techy person but I did it. Smiley
