0.01BTC REWARD for the person who cal help me achieve 6.5+ TH/S on this miner.
Hi, I recently purchased an Avalon 741, but have only managed to get it to run at 4TH.
Outside temp is in the mid 20's.
Using 2x 700w PSU's
Miner is right next to a window, pulling fresh air from outside.
I will really appreciate any help.
0.01BTC REWARD for the person who cal help me achieve 6.5+ TH/S on this miner.

Can you post a screen cap of the miner log. It will give a much more accurate look at how everything is working including the hash boards.
Have you checked to see that your voltage offset is 0?

At least you're mining, I got my full 741 setup yesterday and haven't been able to connect to the controller to set it up:  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2356425.0

I remember back in the summer of '13, I had a hell of a time getting cgminer working to GPU mine, took about a month to get it to work!

Hey there looking at the mw lines I think there is an issue with some of your chips. I can't say for sure but those lines  should all have roughly the same values.

Have you tried swapping the psu's around to see if the log readout is the same, maybe one of your psu's isn't up to snuff.

I would send that I go to a Canaan support ticket they will definitly get you sorted.

If nothing else the reward will probably get you some good responses.

What is the voltage reading at the miner on your 12v lines? I've noticed that Avalon will throttle down chips if the DC voltage starts dropping due to power supplies being overloaded. Do you have very manly supplies running to this thing, and are the plugs warm to the touch?

Hi,
I am using 2x700w platinum PSu's.

No, the plugs aren't warm to the touch.
And as for the voltage reading, i am not sure where to find it...but believe it could be this?:

That might not quite be enough, have you tried running it with just one side powered? That can tell you quickly if a side is down.

Got a volt-meter? if so can you check the voltage on the 12v line from each power supply (you can check on the 4 pin connector, the 8 pin one, places like that). See if it's 12v or less. As a point of reference, my stock A6 will run at about 70-80% of speed when the voltage rail is down to 11.5v.

Actually I'm wondering if Vi is voltage in. If so 10.5v is a very low amount from a 12v supply. Yeah, check the voltage on the supplies.

Did you ever try swapping the side that the psu's are powering and them check the log to see if mw2 still shows the lame numbers?
Also what type of psu are you running? Brand, I just want to look up the specs.

What type of a circuit are you running on, did it ever achieve higher hashrate, and then drop or is this the max it has reached?

Did you open a ticket with Canaan?

Hi, I will test the voltage this afternoon after school.
These are the psu's im using:

What type of electrical circuit are you on. That PSU says those ratings are in a 200-240 volt service. If you are plugged into a nirmal 110 residential, that would explain a low voltage.

Here in South Africa all plugs are 220-240V, so that shouldn't be the problem

Hi, I tested the voltage and received a rating of about 10.9V, any idea why its so low?

Your power supplies are too low wattage for your miner.  They're rated 700W, but that's the total output for all voltage rails.  We only use the +12 for mining, and you only get 54A which is only 648W.
You really need to over specify your psu when using atx type supplies.  They'll last longer and be in the sweet spot efficiency wise when you do, you'll undervolt your miner and get exactly what your getting now if you dont.
I know Canaan says 1150W for the 741, it's certainly drawing more than that given your symptoms.  That, or you got a bum psu.

I don't believe in superstition because it's bad luck: 13thF1oor6CAwyzyxXPNnRvu3nhhYeqZdc

So it looks like my problem might be resolved,
It seems that the power Suplies only give 640w on the 12V rail thus giving 1280w (640x2)
And apparently that is not enough to power the miner as it uses 1150W, +0% ~ +15% and 1150+15%=1322.5w.
The guy I bought the miners from said that he will send me other PSU's that deliver at least 1400w on the 12V rail.
Thanks for all your help
