If you're using MyEtherWallet just be careful because it is online and prone to hackers, make sure you manually type the link and double check it, you can download google extension "MetaCert" it really helps a lot, especially to verify if the website is the right website or not. I think if not everyone is using MyEtherWallet then most of us do.
MyEtherWallet is my first wallet since last year an I am using it until today and have found no issues at all.
MyEtherWallet is one of the safest and more  secure wallet if you do take care of your private keys and don't let hackers and Hijackers take your wallet keys then it's totally fine.

Myetherwallet is safe to use as long as you have your own private key and seed phrase. The security feature of my etherwallet is so secured for their users. Those who losses their funds in their myetherwallet have been hacked or victim of phishing. I use myetherwallet since the day i start in cryptocurrency and i do not have any problem regarding in losing funds.

I use it really often to make transactions and to see my tokens' balance.  It is very easy to use but make sure that you check the url. There are many variations to that url that scammers will use to get private information from users so that they can transfer the users tokens to their own wallet.

I am using Myetherwallet to store my ETH and tokens. There are no other options out there, if you have less than 1 ETH. To store a small amount of coins, it is not viable to purchase a hardware wallet like Trezor or Ledger.
