The Bitcoin Forums usage is Exploding

The number of users is coming to 1 million already and I suppose withduch huge interest to crypto-currencies this number is going to be reached soon. The forum is really amazing place for all the community and I am happy to be a part of it. I don't thing we don't need to change anything about the forum, let it stays fee as it is.

so bad that the some of the forums staff is not capable willing or blind? to grow longterm strategic fruitition out of this, instead they sell, banners and complain about scam,

but we dont have to worry about that, if they wont do their jobs good there will be other forums, realizing that opportunity.

Forgive me, but isn't this forum called Bitcoin talk. It isn't the Bitcoin bank, Ponzi plaza, accounts'r'us, Brexit uncovered or any of the other things mentioned in various posts. There are some special interest boards, and that is good, for example, alt coin discussions have a useful place on alt boards. I'd like to see Bitcoin talk return to informed discussions, technical issues, and help for members using Bitcoin. Unfortunately it is hard to find and follow these threads in the mass of flotsam and jetsam that keeps floating to the surface.

I'd love to see an instant automated ban for anyone who posts "I'm agree"^*. It's a very easy way to filter many (Indonesian) shitposters.

Better masters of English could easily avoid that by switching to "I concur", which is my favorite. However, those shitposters aren't smart enough for that.

All of this comes down to the very lucrative business of posting here. In a way I'm guilty too: my current signature is the most lucrative one I've ever had. But at least I try not to post crap.

At this point I don't even mind people who are posting to get paid given that: a) They have one account. b) They really put effort in their posts and this effort can be seen.[1]
[1] There are outright baboons that claim they put a lot of effort and end up producing posts that are 2-3 lines long most of the time. Some posts that I've personally put effort in, back in some hefty block size debates, have taken me 30-60 minutes to write and have contained over 500 words.

Don't be naive, all of us here to earn money. The forum won't be so successful if comments would not be paid. Those things that really should be done on the forum are:
1. Banning of short posters.
2. Allowing to start a new topic only after reaching a rank of Member.
3. Removing non active accounts (like few months without any activity).
4. Too old threads deleting (BTW it is happening this days on the forum, so something good has finely done to make this forum more healthy).

Believe me I know about "Archive" section on the forum, but if you didn't notice it is providing a big cleaning on the forum from last two months and a lot of old threads have been removed already, and it has nothing with removing of shit posts, but probably it has something with shit threads generally.

Just read this line and something came to my mind. Why not introduce a feature like quick search before posting a new thread, it would greatly reduce the spam threads on the forum. Like for example if users want to search for 'transaction being stuck' instead of creating the thread right away, show them a small list of 'quick' result, it will be a good forum feature and could help identify spammers.

Yeppers.  I have that section blocked--and for a very good reason--but I temporarily unblocked it just for the *ahem* entertainment value, and I was absolutely blown away by the volume of shitposts there, even after mprep posted the rule about no garbage "thanks", "joined airdrop", etc. posts.  I reported a whole bunch of them, because I was bored and had nothing better to do.  So yeah, that might account for a lot of them.  

When I joined bitcointalk in 2015, I don't remember there being any of those airdrops.  That seems to be a somewhat recent development, and one in which a lot of 3rd world country shitposters participate.  And, on top of that, I very strongly suspect people are using a ton of alt accounts and that some of those accounts are created for the sole purpose of bumping the airdrop threads.  That whole section is just a mess, and I would hate to have mprep's job of moderating it.

Then some of it I think is just people becoming interested in bitcoin because of its crazy-ass rise to $7000.  I'm sure that accounts for some of this, but I think it's mostly that damn altcoin token section.

I don’t know if you are indirectly referring to me when you talk about the “*ahem* entertainment value,” because I’ve defended in this section that many posts which people call low-value have entertainment value. But I’m not referring to the alts section at all. I think I’ve been on that section like 4 or 5 times in total since I joined bitcointalk. And I also think it is the biggest source of spam and scams.

making this forum a serious capital market, you have to reshape its design

i could help with that project

1. divide forum in anonymous and non anyonymous certified and identified users.
2. divide sub categories for the projects that apply here for finance,
3. develop project development also, many people are looking for global borderless teamups here.

4. certification teams with contracts can develop certification and evaluation checks to give their opinion about candiates, that apply for financing

better division between the categories of the economic sectors that are beeing financed, here, like gambling infrastructure, vaults etc.

i know this is not a perfect description
but this is how i would deal with the situation, because both will growth shity posters that are not able or willing or selfassure enough to post and apply in the certified identified legally observed section


that would involve some work but this is what the community looks for

I think they are simply understaffed. I have seen staff members react quickly to reports and all of my reported posts were always dealt with within hours. The main problem IMO is they have not enough privileges. More people should be able to restore accounts and more people should be put to work to actively remove spam instead of waiting for reports from other users. I know there's enough money to pay them and some people would surely work for tips, just to make thee experience better for all of us.

As if all of this are really not spam accounts. A single person can create a lot of accounts and spams the forum throughout every single day. That certain statistics can only be more reliable if we are getting each data for every single unique users or maybe their IP address(which is not recommended anyways).

Tho we can't deny the fact the we are really increasing in numbers it is just that certain data has a low probabilities.

Lauda's posts are always interesting and written in good, plain English.  Not sloppily, as you see many of these Asian--no offense to Asians--shitposters plop onto the forum.  It's clear that they're silly and ignorant and only put in as much effort as they have to in order to get paid.

I read books in my spare time.  I am used to things being well-written, and it's absolutely jarring to read some of these shitpost comments.  The quality is horrendous, and this bovine excrement isn't something that people should be paid to do.
