When Giants E-commerce start to accept BTC?

I think scaling is definitely a challenge that are identified by them. They would be losing money, when people want to do transactions and Bitcoin goes through a spam period and these transactions cannot be done within a few hours. < slow confirmations >

This will cause further problems with their customer support being flooded with problems regarding "confirmation" issues. People has become used to "instant" transaction confirmation with other payment options like Credit cards and PayPal. Bitcoin has to address these issues, before it can be seriously considered by these ecommerce giants. ^hmmmmm^

There's a lot of online shop that accepts bitcoin nowadays and the three of them are Newegg, Shopify and Steam. But the main form of payment and still the most recommended is still fiat currency I think it is because of the fluctuations and volatility that's why some of the biggest e-commerce businesses are still in doubt in adapting cryptocurrencies as a payment but soon to be that the majority of all online stores will accept bitcoin for their products i think some of them are still in development and experimental but we will see soon.

You are referring to a templates which can support the gateway such as Spotify - ok this is the first step . But I'm looking the solution of actually paying with BTC or other CCs in real world. I men something is missing right ?

As of now that cryptocurrency is working it’s way to mainstream and can’t be stopped by any means of black propaganda and regulations on some country’s.. The time it will be coming out as an option with Alibaba and Amazon is nearing and I believe that this is now on the table of both companies discussing this feature and its impact to they’re company.. It's gonna happen, maybe next year or two more years but i can see it happening. Crypto popularity is really booming especially this year, and if the demand is high, they will add it because surely it will bring them more revenue.

Majority of big businesses still don't consider introducing and accepting bitcoin because this is still big risk and potential loss because of bitcoin volatility. And some influence of politics can't be discarded. Also, because of their legal and regulatory obligations in many countries bitcoin regulation are the precondition for introducing bitcoin into business.

Most of them depends on their governments treatment on bitcoin since they are duly registered and need to follow certain laws. Bitcoin issues like possible blockchain take over and sometimes network being unstable are something they want to assure. Volatility is also a concern to them. In 2010 you can tell we are early adopter, but as mass media all over the world is talking about it, it's anymore something restricted to some port of human kind - everyone could easily open their wallet and start accept and pay with it. It pretty easy, don't you think ?

With bitpay and many other plugins it is now possible for online stores to easily accept bitcoins as a payment method. I believe this will be even more mainstream in the ear future.

Amazon plans to expand it's target market and possibly focus on a wide range market around the world with this payment facilities will involve different currencies which up to this moment every one uses dollars but if bitcoin will be considered it would be much efficient and convenient for the people to acces amazon's shop I guess these company is already looking towards this digital currency and maybe soon in the future we will be getting goods from amazon using bitcoin

Alibaba and Amazon are global e-commerce companies. They are targeting almost every part of the internet users. Bitcoin has gained some attention at global level only this year properly. Some giant financial companies and banks are getting into it now. Possibly we will see some e-commerce giants getting into Bitcoin or cryptos in 2018. This is the high time to take advantage of growing popularity of cryptocurrencies.

The highly volatile price of bitcoin is a big factor to consider but I think these e-commerce groups and companies will not make a big move like accepting bitcoin as a payment not until the governments has considered bitcoin as legal. I may be wrong on this but in my point of view e-commerce does not want to lose money that they might make from bitcoin if the governments suddenly declared it illegal or ban it.

A member already spoken about Purse so I will not talk about it. But there are some challenges for bitcoin to be accepted as a payment option in giant retail shops and e-commerce websites. Let me list down a few for you,

1. Fluctuating value: Bitcoin's value is dynamic and keeps fluctuating from one end to another within a very short period of time. So if you see a product price is 0.015 bitcoin now, it may change to 0.017 while checking out. E-commerce companies need a way to fight such fluctuations. Because it posses a huge risk on their profitability.

2. Transaction confirmation time: Currently bitcoin transactions usually take around 30 minutes if you pay suitable network fees. SO if you order something, your trade request won't get confirmed before the payment comes to their wallet. The system will have to keep checking for the transaction confirmation and then they can release the product for further processing and shipping. That isn't convenient.

3. Legal status of bitcoin: That is one of major challenges for bitcoin to be accepted as a payment gateway. The legal status of bitcoin is still not clear in majority of the countries. So e-commerce stores will not want to burn their hands on to something like this. They need transparency around their business.

I think these are the three major roadblocks for bitcoin to be accepted as a real payment gateway. It looks good now as an investment asset but not as a currency, at least for now. We need a faster and more stable crypto currency to become mainstream. Sad reality!

While you do make some valid points you dont need to be the flash to pay using bitcoin.  I have bought stuff online from tigerdirect.com, booked vacation from expedia.com and i even paid my satellite tv service bill one time using bitcoin.
