This was also my question when I saw a new ICO (it was a good one, not like the other hundreds). The developer announced bounty programs, but the use of telegram was mandatory, so I just let them go...
I know it's easy and straightforward, but there are a lot of other possible apps that doesn't record the phone nr. and other data... Using telegram is fancy at the moment

Slack was already have dirty image as of now because it is being used for scamming people through spamming phishing links that's why most ICO as of now and its devs do tend to make use of telegram instead to avoid such risk of hacking and scamming.Telegram experience was great since you can able to communicate with the team. Privacy would depend on its owner.There are lots to choose from.

it depends on how well organised a coin's set up is. a well put together one will have different channels for different subjects so discussion is never drowned out. then again i've only looked at smaller coins. a telegram channel for something like ethereum would be almost impossible to read.

I highly recommended to have one telegram account for bounty purposes. It is the easier way to have updates from certain groups of bounty hunters who shared airdrops and open bounty campaigns. It's different between telegram channels and telegram group, people can't spam their opinion in telegram channels obviously.
On the other hand, telegram group may full of useless chat among the members, especially for bounty group or trading group.
I've joined several telegram group and few channels, only two group seems informative and attracted due to people in this group have same purpose about something and no one dare to spam . There are several telegram channels which will be useful, such as News channels about cryptocurrency.

ive seen some reports stating that slack are bad to use because there have been many scammers and phishers that are creating a fake channel on it therefore slack has not been advisable to use whenever theres a bounty or signature campaigns that requires group chatting. yet telegram is the most recommended nowadays becasue its much safe and easy compared to slack.

yes, I use telegram to join into group bounty signature campaign that I follow. very efficient to monitor project progress. compared with similar applications, the advantages of telegram is that we can see the message when we have not joined. so, we do not miss important info.

I'm not into telegram but I've seen that most of the ICOs are inot it. I don't know what are the telegrams popular channels since I've been mainly active here in forum and not with telegram. But also be careful people there are now people that are using those telegram channels to push their intentions to do a pump and dump group, making people to be fooled by giving some false information about trading signals.

It is not the possible because all the channels and the bitcoin n price will grow but a lot of the pages and the telegram are promoting the bitcoin because the bitcoin price is increasing and this is the best time for the bitcoin to increase the value and the price. Same old strategy for every trader and it's the most hardest of em all well we have strategies for ourselves don't we but this is just making things worst luring out some newbies and try to convince them to buy your almost deadcoin and buy a lots of it and make your fame do the work for deceiving and get them interested to buying such awful scheme while you have the upper hand and almost you have the profit and leaving all your clients stuck at that point on holding until it grew larger i mean that's just cruel.
