If i have 1 bitcoin to invest in alternate coins, then i will choose an alternate coin that has a big market capital and on my list it's probably Ripple (XRP) will get 50% of allocated 1BTC, 30% of it goes to IOTA (MIOTA), and the other 20% will be invested to NEM(XEM) and i will only check for them after a year or two.

The first, i will try to invest in the spectre ico which already considered as very promising project with a lot of people are interested to invest in there, and the remaining amount that i will try to invest in those promising project with useful product just like eidoo and another payment project like centra.
But i must give a note about those are the long term investmand and before try to invest your money and you must waiting for the best time to buy the more coin.

Best time to buy is when they are dip. Dont buy when they are high. Simple rule but very important.
From your answer, you more interest in ico project, but for me i prefer to state 3 top exist coins like etherium waves and ltc.
