BTC Mining vs Buying

I buy some bitcoins each month and also I buy hashpower somewhere,  seems some of minging are good, but mostly losing money.

if it's losing you money, then how is it good? cloud mining are mostly ponzi schemes anyways, you might as well get out while you can.

Its better to buy the bitcoins rather than mining. Because in mining you need resources and continue monitoring of the resources and you will also need continue connectivity with internet with high speed. So that thing i think will be less profitable than buying.

how so? mining is pretty low maintenance, proportional to the size of the mining operation that's being run. maintaining an internet connection? buy a plan that fits your needs and is reliable. something breaks? fix the problem every now and then. it's really low - effort, almost no effort required in something small like a home operation.

I think BTC mining makes it easier for BTC to mine than to buy mine because it's a coal mine so if I choose BTC mining just because it's easy to mine

as above, the maintenance might be minimal, but the setup, especially in larger setups, can be daunting.

Mining is going more unprofitable but buy and hold is easer and you don't worry about electricity, etc

I consider both of bitcoin mining and buying bitcoin is are better because they can give profit. In the mining bitcoin, you need a significant amount of money to buy some hardware likes GPUs and ASICs. But in the buying bitcoin, you can start any amount it depends on your money or cash.

Mining is out of question, because the large scale miners have made it almost impossible for the small scale and medium scale miners to get their coins at a profit. And here in India, electricity is getting increasingly expensive and there are legal complexities associated with setting up large-scale Bitcoin mining farms.

in my opinion, buy and Hold is more profitable than mine in short term. Let's take a simple example, if you buy an antminer s9 at a price of 0.25 BTC, it takes 3 months or more for ROI, whereas if you buy bitcoin at the same time, the profitability in 3 months is above 100% with the only hold and without should think about the electrical load and maintenance of mining tools. But if you're looking for long-term investment, I thought mining is still better than buy.

I think bitcoin mining is much more profitable in china as the electricity fees in their country is relatively cheap comparing to other countries, but since bitcoin price have rise so high in the past few months, I think most miners are profiting from mining bitcoin after deducting all the expenses incurred.

Why not both Bitcoin Buying and Bitcoin Mining? Mining will give you Bitcoin that you can sell and get money. Also, Bitcoin is very bullish and your mining coin will go up if you hold. And buying Bitcoin makes you an investor (which is good actually), too.

I would also prefer BTC buying than mining, because in mining you will spend much time, money and effort and it will cost a lot on electricity, your profit will just go to your electricity bill while on buying btc, you'll have to do is just hold it then sit back ang relax let the bitcoin market works for you, and just wait till you earn profit.

mining requires capital that is not small if you want to get the maximum results, otherwise it takes a long time to turn over capital because constrained operational and maintenance costs. if by buying bitcoin at the right time then sell it again at a high price then the profit can be obtained. actually everything takes time, depending on passion and capital.

With bitcoin difficulty for now, of course buy is more worth than mining but if you had really good hardware i think mining is not bad especially for altcoin but for bitcoib mining i'm not really sure now.

bitcoin mining and investing are different, You can earn bitcoins by joining bounty campaigns and you can earn profit without investing while mining needed a lot more capital to build your mining hardware and you can earn bitcoins passively.

I think in general setting up a decent mining platform is a great way to have a nice steady flow of BTC coming into your wallet. With the new price surges i think its really advantageous to get involved even if you're are not from one of the power chinese power house mining corp

I would prefer Buying bitcoin and holding.For bitcoin mining I need a lot of money investment. bt for buying  bitcoin I dont need a lot of money.so buying is most suitable for me.

Hi there windsee! Based on my experience that will depends on your mining rig and electricity cost. If you are using the Antminer S9, and with electricity for a cent, I’m sure you can get more profitable in mining than buy and holding. However, if you got contract with cloud miner like genesis and the like, the profit will be much lower due to the maintenance fees it occur. Another problem is the hack, I hope you read the latest NiceHash accident.  At the end, even you choose to buy and hold or mine, the price of the bitcoin will be the number one answer on what to do.

Personally, I'm experiencing changes in my daily transactions. I am talking about the fees, and yes the miners are the beneficiaries when it comes to that.

Since the price of Bitcoin is hyped right now, so does the fees to our transactions or even exchange. Yes especially exchange, from Bitcoin to other coins and vice versa.

Well, there is nothing wrong in buying Bitcoin right now. If you have that kind of vision that the price of Bitcoin will be very expensive in the future then there's no doubt on not buying them. Well only if you're a whale or something you can make tons of profit, but if you're just going to buy just lump amount of it, you would rather just go on mining.

But then again a mining rig is quite expensive you know. If you're into mining, right now is the best time to do it - take advantage of it.

Probably, i can't guarantee you can get profit with you're buying bitcoin now the price is high but we don't know on 2018 the price of the bitcoin will be more higher or maybe not higher when the ends 2017. I know mine now days it's not profitable anymore, but with mine some alt coin then sell it into bitcoin maybe you can get more bitcoin even you didn't mine the bitcoin. But i can suggest you with trading/buy some btc for now, it's long investment, not short at all.

Mining or buying? It goes back to the individual person where everything can be profitable. Why ? Because of the mining results it makes us to but must be remembered from the mining is not easy because we must have a very expensive tool its price so we can do it.
Buying is also profitable because you can make trades that make us profit.

none is profitable right now , so don't engage into one. For mining thing , you need a cheap electricity country and a good rig and you must always improve to get new hash power so it's better to buy and hold coins. Mining was great some years ago , right now , only big farms are mining bitcoin.
