I am in Houston too and wanted to go from 200amp service to 400amps.  Centerpoint said I would have to pay for a new transformer (the current one serving 6 houses is 50 kVA), pay for the concrete pad that goes under it, pay them dig up a bunch of my neighbor driveways, their landscaping, repairs to same afterwards, etc.  The total cost was nearly $30k!!  did they charge you too?  how much?

They were certainly a headache to deal with that's for sure. Actually, I didn't interface with them much, they have a "consultant" that works in a certain area.

Specifically, we actually wanted a dedicated 400A feed to the shed. Initially the consultant was OK with it because the transformer could handle the load, however upon visual inspection, there were not enough spare terminations for another feed. So, said the best thing we could do is get a single 400A feed to the house which would replace the 100A.

So, what did we pay for? Well, I had to pay for the new trenching, all the cable, new meter can...etc...etc. The only thing I didn't pay for was the Centerpoint guys to install a new meter, and to do the final terminations on the transformer side. My electrician and his separate digging crew handled the rest. All in around $10k $13k or so.

That is awesome! What model of power outlet strips are you using (look a bit like pack poles). Looks like the name could be TrippLite but I can't see any model info.

beerman, what are you using on the outside to stop heavy run for pushing back in to the fan on the cold days.

those quiet cool fans are temp driven right? or i guess the antminers are just so hot it never turns off no matter the temperature?

No water goes in through the box fans because they are always exhausting. Yes, in the video you can see the fans running. The top seems to be running at a much higher speed than the one on the bottom.

When my home was built they ran 2 Cat 5e cables into the attic. They used to be for ATT Uverse, but who needs that crap? They were re-purposed for redundant connections to the Shed. Finally got it cleaned up!

Also finished installing the fans for the Ant-Muffler today! You can see the custom "bookshelf" is in front of the fans as well. It just needs shelves and Antminers.

You're so fast with that impressive progress. Way to go BeerMan81! By the way, have you tested the noise level of this fan?
I'm consider to setup more 2 fans for my minin farm and I expect that fan's noise level should be less than 65dBA, but I checked around not much high speed fan could meet that low noise level.

Finally I finished fan setup with 2 fans. The fan is 24", I dont have the sound meter, but as I estimated they're sound like small air conditioner.

I have been neglecting the GPUs a bit lately, but I have time to resolve some issues now. I have tried different ways to mount the GPUs, and we have found the best simple way to prevent GPU sagging. Using the waste ends of the 1x4s and some binder clips the GPUs have better support.

This is like $12 for all those clips! Who needs to spend a bunch of money on GPU suports? Make 'em your self!

You don't need fast internet for mining - I had a 3mb Time Warner line doing 10 1080 TI rigs with no latency issues at all. Now remoting into them... that's was a different issue

You don't need fast internet for mining - I had a 3mb Time Warner line doing 10 1080 TI rigs with no latency issues at all. Now remoting into them... that's was a different issue

You cant do much with somones IP address, except DDOS them. But while you are at it can I have your address, when you are not home, and can you make your dog like me..

For your next setup check out the cyberpower pdu's. The SNMP data is more detailed, and doesn't require an applet (and whacky browser settings) to control it. It has a clean web interface you can get to easily.

It outputs per-bank load so you can balance easier, vs the single reading from the tripplite. It some other data too that's neat to see (power consumed since startup, resettable), like this:

The only way I too see if a bank is overloaded on the tripplite is to wait until it pops the breaker for the bank (It happened to me... dual mining testing)

I'm tempted to add the environmental sensor to it too, there's a block of snmp data for that also.

That's a pretty good idea for propping up the GPUs. Are you worried about unequal air flow over the GPUs that are at different heights in relation to the fans?

great project, i havent read the entire thread but what have you come up with for reducing moisture in the air and filtering

my garage is set up similar, although much smaller scale.. but i leave the back door open for fresh air intake and air pushes out through ridge cap in the roofing and soffit vents
