I'll ask:

What is?  Or more specifically, how is it determined?

It's alright. Going to assume it uses your posts and time logged in to determine it.

Dissertation was about threat modelling on distributed ledgers.

I'm really tempted to just +1 this topic but given all the talk about banning people for spamming +1 and such I figure I should put in a little more effort Wink

I assume that it has something to do with a combination of time logged, posts per hour, and hopefully length of posts. If it doesn't include length of post its just encouraging spam...

In any case I doubt the mods will tell us anything about the algorithm. The more spammers know the easier it is for them to manipulate it.

I'll make a random stab and say it starts counting your posts at the beginning of the month, and adds maybe 1 point for every hour on, but that's about as good as my guess will get.

I wonder if it can go down.

Transisto's is the highest so far.

EDIT: I think the registration date plays a some role.

Bruno and I both have 742.

Only now have I noticed that ranks are also affected. Interesting.

All those posts in so little time, and yet such a low activity; now I really wonder how it's determined.

How is activity determined? I just went from senior to junior member. How about a little advance warning?

Interesting: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=27827
Post count = Activity for him, but 2 of his posts are separated by 2 minutes so its not the number of days during which you posted

Looks like it's the same bounds than post count: 5, 100, 250, 500
