Yes this one is quite pleasing, in an artistic sense. I haven't seen it many places but it was on a billboard in San Jose recently: Honey Badger http://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/1gagle/lol_new_bitcoin_billboard_in_san_jose_honey_badger/

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

I like the 3rd one best

Then why do you display the first one in your avatar?

I like the third one best, but also am displaying the first one in my avatar... since the avatar options were so limited.. this one had the best overall design  Wink

I agree the third one is best, but it's already used as Thailand's currency.

wow really? I never would've guessed

Yeah! Unfortunately this can create some confusion, especially for international customers.  Undecided

I would have to go with the first one.

I've always liked it, feels fresh somehow... also it is not a complete ripoff of the american $ sign.

It's not really a problem now... but as the bits become more popular, it might be a problem in the future. Hopefully by then we'll have our very own special BTC unicode character!

I totally agree! Super fresh and artistically pleasant. And yeah, the fact that BTC is soo similar to $ is a problem.

Ƀ is unicode and unique (unused for anything else afaik).
We don't want to reuse the Thai Baht symbol people, I don't care how pretty it looks to you.

Ł is litecoin's.

Yeah definitely, as well as for all the other alternative currencies. All we'd have to do is make up a proposal and submit it.

Ł is litecoin's.

By the same logic, won't Ł confuse people from Poland or who speak Polish?  This is just a normal letter of the alphabet there.  It would be like suggesting that the Bitcoin symbol should just be a "B".

Companies claiming they got hacked and lost your coins sounds like fraud so perfect it could be called fashionable.  I never believe them.  If I ever experience the misfortune of a real intrusion, I declare I have been honest about the way I have managed the keys in Casascius Coins.  I maintain no ability to recover or reproduce the keys, not even under limitless duress or total intrusion.  Remember that trusting strangers with your coins without any recourse is, as a matter of principle, not a best practice.  Don't keep coins online. Use paper or hardware wallets instead.

Yeah, this really is the best reason to use Ƀ until we can BTC in unicode.
