"they" made up their minds already and made an announcement through the mailing list and as you can see "they" which included miners are slowly stopping to signal NYA .

At the moment there is total confusion on the market and so many contradictory informations are coming from all sides. Probably with the only aim of market manipulation. This is probably the cause that price went down to 6400$. I’m not worried, the price will recover again but can’t see the point in all this mess. Best moment to split bitcoin from investers perspective. All time high of bitcoin this week. People (including me) rushing to the crypthocoin market to not mis the train. Start dumping the coin and  the new people will drop there coins and loose lost of money. The investers will buy up the low valued bitcoin.

And again pump the bitcoin market and double win your investments. I wait until the big drop and start to invest in bitcoins for way lower price than the 7000+ we saw on the coinmarket this week.

People care because the price is changing due to the news and if you are holding bitcoin right now your holdings have lost value thanks to the news, there was not going to be a fork and if after a day the miners are stating there is in fact going to be a fork then it seems they are just playing with the price and obtaining benefits to themselves since they know full well what are they going to do, they are probably benefiting economically with this, so with this amount of uncertainty I think the best thing to do is to keep holding your coins and wait until things get a little bit clearer.
