Hi everybody,

I am reading this Forum for a year, since i start mining altcoins.

Since day one, i was wondering about the stale shares go up and down, and affecting my hashrate because they will add the stale shares to my hashrate.
Then i start to google why is this happening and tried everything i can to solve this.
After spending some time to try to fix this(first i  thought its my internet connection or my OCed BIOS), i found this post on reddit:

https://www.reddit.com/r/EtherMining/comments/6h25b8/is_the_claymore_miner_an_nsa_skunkworks_project/divmrmh/?st=j9vmlfob&sh=80048423

and then this

https://www.reddit.com/r/EtherMining/comments/6h01sc/is_it_worth_switching_from_genoil_ethminer_to/diugisx/?st=j9vmnn3t&sh=57398a0e

I work myself as a administrator for 15 years and everything this guy is saying in his post i agree to, maybe u to.

Start think yourself, claymore can tell u what ever he like.
He can report Hashrate to the pool whatever he like!

Check this Post out and maybe u will switch to etherminer

https://github.com/ethereum-mining/ethminer/releases

or Genoil

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1368785.0

like i did and save u much more then the 2% ^^ Wink

So what are u think about this?

You don't need to come on here and post what everyone already knows, just because you can't come to grips with the fact that he has made the best eth miner in a multi-billion dollar market and made millions. You don't like the devfee go mine on the other handful of open source miners and make less and be happy.

As I know, Claymore's ETH miner is only one that have dual modes for mining. I know that for solo mining exists other miners with the same speed as Claymore but without devfee.

Pretty simple, don't use it.  I personally like the monitoring tools and all he makes so I choose to pay for that service.  If you don't there's others have fun.

I use the Claymore miner and a few others, but I don't just look at the displayed hashrate from the miner, I look at the valid shares column on the pool. From what I have seen so far, most mining programs are within a few % of each other as reflected by the pool and Claymore is usually one of the highest in terms of valid shares.

So I don't know what is going on behind the scenes of the actual program as I just look at the shares I get credit for on the pool which is ultimately what I am being paid off of, so that is all that matters to me.

Basically, if I can earn $100/day off Claymore's miner I don't care if he is making 3% fees behind the scenes if the competition can only make me $90/day with a 1% fee. In the end $100 > $90 so that is what you should focus on.

Does it matter? At this point mining optimizations for the eth algorithm has been saturated. He's not "stealing" 10% more hash from us. When you come on here and bash on the hard work of others and call it a "Rip Off" is what I have an issue with.

Do you go buy an iPhone and Apple has 100's of billions in the bank and make 60%+ margins off your hard cash and call it a "Rip Off" ? I don't think so.

Thats my opinion on that.

First of all, i never had an IPhone....and not thinking to buy one. <3 Android

My goal was not to bash Claymore, i am really thankfull for his software. It helped me a lot to start mining.

But facts are facts...

Just want to know what other miners think about it.

you don't care cause your a tool just like jstefanop, claymore is nothing short of a greedy piece of shit that whom thinks he is quite self entitled, on a per rig basis he is ripping everyone off, how about the fact that his miner programs aren't updated enough, how about the fact his zcash miner is maxxed out in terms of optimizations? how about the fact he has MORE than 1 miner which is more than anyone else. sure he has created a good mining program but here is the thing people are starting to realize is that bit of money he takes isn't worth the NOW work he barely puts in and couple of his mining program GO UN-UPDATED for very long periods of time, and mostly when they do get updated its crap that isn't worth me dishing out a dev fee to some pompus asshole. people like you, jstefanop are fucking tools and you don't look at the whole picture. we dish out on average per rig around 40 dollars a month to claymore and that's per rig, then theres pool fee's and then power costs, as it stands I pay out more to claymore than for the power that my rigs consume, wtf that's a problem. if your going to defend someone have some better info other than ohh he has made the best program, get that shit outta here. theres lots that you do not mention. you only seem to mention the "better" things of claymore without mentioning the other bullshit, right now with btc high in price id bet he makes more than 40 per rig per month

also note that claymore could easily reduce his dev fee on all his miners to 1 percent and still make a fucking killing, but does he? no. Why cause he is greedy and if he thought he could get more from us, I guarantee he would do so
you wouldn't pay for a service if it didn't perform so why are we still having to pay for his stupid dev fee when its not worth the money, again he could reduce his devfee and still make a killing but he wont do that, 2 percent these days is too much and is nothing short of him holding some of out hashrate hostage, tbh anything after a few months of dev fee is totally not needed and is a great display is his need to be greedy.
greed is what makes this world go round

exactly and for what we get in return pretty much isn't worth what we dish out to claymore, we the miners are held hostage to greedy people like claymore

one day there will be someone like claymore with good coding skills that will put him out to pasture, and claymore will wish he had done a better job of listening to the miners instead of ripping them off, without us miners he doesn't make shit so if more and more people stop using his program he makes less, maybe then he might start to listen to the very people he rips off

I doubt he gives a crap now hehe.  He's made a killing and can retire so if someone comes out with a better or same but less fee thing great!  I'm the first one in line.

your right id put my money on that he doesn't care and that says a lot all in itself about claymore. only thing he cares about is making that money and keeping that devfee where its at, he isn't not here for the miners. he is here for himself and himself alone. claymore can say what he wants but we all know better now days
