I was gone for a few days, and now I come back my post count is replaced with "Activity", and I was bumped from hero to full member. What does that mean?

It means you've been active on the site for only 10 weeks (and yet managed to post more than 2,500 times in those 70 days). That's an average of over 35 posts per day for each 2 week time period that you've been active.  The forum administrator has decided that posting more than 14 times every 14 days shouldn't contribute to your status label.  This helps keep scammers and spammers from coming in and earning "hero" status by simply posting a few thousand posts of useless crap over a period of a few days.  Now your status takes into consideration both your post count and the amount of days (or rather two week periods) you've been actively posting.

Danny how in the world do you only have 378 Activity? Your by far the most active person I see on these forums. Definitly something wrong there.

Nope. Nothing wrong. I've found bitcoin fascinating since I discovered it in Feb. 2012.  I studied it carefully for a few months and then created an account at bitcointalk.org in late June, 2012. I've done what I could to help others learn, and I've continued to study it carefully for a year since then.  So, while I've been quite active, I haven't even been here at bitcoin talk a year yet (5 more days to my 1 year anniversary with the site).  1 year would be 26 two-week periods.  My activity actually seems to be about 14 higher than I'd expect, I'm guessing the periods must be divided based on some initial calendar date and not by each individual's anniversary date.  As such, my start date (and the current date) must each be within some two week period that I get full credit for.

I'll be hero status again in about 6 weeks, but I'm not sure why I should care.

I don't see how that should be painful. I have as much activity as someone who has been active for 5 weeks, with 120 posts a week. But I've been here like 12 days. Yeah, I'm feelin that burn.

Plus, who cares what it says. I'm on here all the time, promoting good things. And I only joined 2 or 3 months ago. So I should be at 70.

DannyHamilton.....Any relation to Laird?  Seriously, this is just moderator stuff.  Ignore it.  Or complain --at your own risk.  Who was it that said "Do not upset the gods"?  Was that Satan?  Or Lenny Bruce?

28, 30 or 31. Why? I don't see how this is relevant.

I'm not worried about it, I was just wondering what happened. And what activity meant. I've only been here like 2 months and active for 12 days, I was kinda disappointed that there were no ranks left after just 2 months. This way is better.

LOL.

Lets assume that months in your country all have the minimum number of days you indicated (28).

You say "I only joined 2 or 3 months ago."

Using simple math:

  • 28 days per month for 2 months (28 X 2) = 56 days
  • 28 days per month for 3 months (28 x 3) = 84 days

Doesn't this mean that you've "been here like 56 to 84 days", and not "like 12 days" as you said?

Ok, so lets assume for the sake of argument that you've actually been here like 12 days, and (for the sake of argument) that you also only joined 2 or 3 months ago.

Again with simple math we find that:

  • 12 days divided by 2 months = 6 days per month
  • 12 days divided by 3 months = 4 days per month

Therefore, I can only assume that months in your country must have 4 or 6 days each.

Is this humor lost on everyone except legitnick and me?

Didn't they say "Every two week period that you are active"?

Here's my stats:
Total time logged in: 12 days, 18 hours and 33 minutes.

Here's my stats:

Your total time logged in is the cumulative time you have logged in.
Disregard the days/hours/minutes format as that is what is confusing you.
Your total logged in time is 18393 minutes.

Your activity is based on post count and account history.
You registered on April 19 so you have about 60 active days or about 4.3 two-week activity periods.

Oh, ok. Now I get it. So every 2 weeks since joining, you can get 14 points? Or 28?
