This shit is getting ridiculous. Newbies are replying to old topics with spam relies. It's cluttering up the forum.

We need a rule forbidding replies to (very) old topics.

It is pitch black. You are likely to be eaten by a grue.

The Bitcoin software, network, and concept is called "Bitcoin" with a capitalized "B". Bitcoin currency units are called "bitcoins" with a lowercase "b" -- this is often abbreviated BTC.

The admins just need to close the topic, is not that hard. Just time.

Report the threads doing that, complaining in Meta doesn't help that much.  Reporting the threads so stupid necro bumps like that can be deleted does help.

(I'm not sure if you reported the one you took a picture of or not)

Deleted that. I moved it from Bitcoin discussion, not realizing the dates myself too.

I think Grue is trying to get admin position, constantly see him reporting "Newbies for spamming"

Although I agree noobs who spam over excessively should be dealt with harshly, the one in the picture does not look that bad.

What do you suggest grue? Ban him for posting on a old thread?

Its the newbie section, its filled with lame threads and stupid posts. noobs want to get out of there. You cant blame them.

No, I'm just sick and tried of people bumping up old topics. It either brings up discussions that were done 9001 times before, or brings up an issue that is out of date (blockheader v2, for example).

Check the context of the thread. He's complaining that a 3 year old site is down. I don't care if he's new to the internet, or he's genuinely spamming, but he needs to be punished (or at least warned). If you check his last postings, you can see that his other posts are also replies to old threads.

Wait, it was? I rarely scroll down to the newbie section. Undecided
