Yes Ripple is an altcoin with high potential
It's old and reliable
Never hacked Smiley these are nice things to trust

I would not tempt fate or hackers with this kind of statement to be honest. Never hacked simply means hackers have not tried hard enough. With Ethereum wallets, for example, lots of funds to steal to make the hacking worthwhile. With Bitcoin, even in Singapore now they predict quantum computing to be able to crack it by 2029. And we know that tech predictions tend to be shortlived as technology advances far quicker than most people think. Hack-proof does not exist. Hack-resistant is the best anyone can hope for.

It is also good to invest in Ripple reason is:

1.Latest craze in crypto world
2.No.3 spot on the list of over 100 cryptocurrencies
3.Blockchain protocol recognition over 60 financial institution in the world
4.Technology that offers aside from its currency

I agree if most of us here say ripple is a long term investment. But it depends on your capital, if you have big cap no problem you buy it now but if you have small cap better not hold it, just play in other short term coin then buy a few xrp from your profit.

Definitely invest in Ripple for long term..
You will get a higher return on investment, in technological terms Ripple is better than any other altcoin, many banks are testing Ripple technology.
It sure is a strong altcoin, and should be viewed as a long term investment!

IMHO long term. Too much talks about how perspective this coin is, how many banks adore them, but the price is not goin up honestly speaking and no real stuff is happening. But still I keep some coins. Who knows..  Wink

I'm thinking of acquiring some ripple but i need to know if it's a short term investment or long term.
Coz i have been following the market trend and I've not seen a steady increase for the past few weeks.
So, is it for long term or short term?
Coz to me it seems the coin has some potential.

if you see the coin have some potential its better to hold it for long term

I doubt that ripple will pump because of the supply is so large. Think about it, if the price will hit $1 then it will surpass the market cap of all the coins. Do you think it will happen? I'm afraid not.

For me - definitely long term. Its price is so low, that percentage-wise it can rise significantly and yield big profits - but definitely in the (very) long run. It's not something that'll happen overnight.

i am more eth thinking that would be more potent than ripple., eth ever increased to very expensive price ,, unlike ripple .. if you know eth ever penetrate the price up to 0.11 btc and if ripple ever reach that price ,, i am not sure to this .. this is just a duping ,, the pump team had never entered the ripple with big numbers

To be honest Ripple does seem quite promising to me but has never benefited me in any way. I have invested in Ripple 3 different times and each time invested in it, the price went down. It may be because I didnt invested in it at the right time but I don't find it to be that profitable. There are many who says it is a good long term hold which might be true. The banks are using Ripple because of its technology and not because of the coin. So the XRP coin basically is not as good as its technology which makes me think 10 times now before investing in it.

Ripple is a tricky one IMO. Yes, the reasons to buy and hold long stated previously in this thread are valid but to me it seems that by design Ripple is not something that should fluctuate when it gets adopted. This is primarily a blockchain for banks to transfer money between themselves cheaply, they wouldnt want to buy x amount of XRP to transfer only for the recipient to receive less or possibly more.

I think there is some truth in this. Same goes for all coins that are or will used for lowering the costs of transactions, for example buying GPU computing etc. services. They need to have steady rate so that expenses for businesses buying the transactions are predictable.

You shouldn't focus on short-term investments to start with, the reason being that cryptocurrencies is a new innovation and there is so much potential for growth, that it doesn't make sense to invest in small intervals. The biggest value will come within the next five years, where consumers and institutionalized investors will start putting money into the blockchain. When this happen we'll see all currencies, including Ripple go up. Ripple is especially well positioned because it has all these partnerships with other institutions and banks and that is helping for people to trust it. It targets the Japanese market which is quite big and has a good exposure to Asia overal, I think it's a great long-term investment and one of the most promising coins out there.

The ripple coin is definitely good for long-term investment because it was created to service the banking system, and banks only began to implement it in their activities. In the short term, one must start from the general situation on the market. When bitcoin was pumped up in connection with the forthcoming November fork, the altcoyins fell and at that time the ripple could be bought. Now the altkoins are rising against the background of bitcoin fighting with their clones. It is necessary to monitor the processes and make decisions.

You should go for long term definitely. The price increase of such coin can't happen in a short time investment. And a long term investment is a more concrete and sure decision. Ripple is centralized and is used by banks, when many other banks would adapt it in order to create a competition to the decentralized cryptos, the reputation of ripple will go up and as a result the price would definitely increase.

I think ripple is one of those coins which you should surely hold in the long run. It is a coin based upon the idea of global value transfer. It is currently Used by companies such as UniCredit, UBS and Santander and many banks are adopting it for global payment transfers. The coins also has a really strong team and the coin looks really promising in the long run.
The coin has alot of potential to grow and you can expect the value of ripple to be above 0.5$ within 2-3 years for sure.
