The amount of bitcoins he plans to sell actually amounts to almost 150 Million USD. I'm pretty sure that if he sells all the coins, bitcoin prices will crash and bitcoin cash prices will rise.
To me, this is an elaborate pump and dump, hype that he will generate by buying that amount of bitcoin cash will skyrocket the price of the currency, he will then sell it at a profit for much more bitcoin than he bought it for in the first place.

Think about it, If he sold 1,000 bitcoin while it was on $7,200 that is $7.2 Million and converted everything to BCH which was around $600 each during that time he can own 12,000 BCH and at this time its value is $17 million even if he convert it back to BTC at this time he already earned a lot since he can buy roughly 3,000 bitcoin at its current price. I think, it is part of one big game. He tries to manipulate the market of cryptocurrencies, perhaps, checks as far as the market is steady against manipulations. And now, its actions are very similar on intercurrency trade with two opposite movements of currencies in the market. He intentionally sells bitcoin for the purpose of dump, at the same time locking in profits. All got profit invests directly in BitcoinCash to create an agiotage, thereby entices newbies into currency with mad growth. I think as soon as capitalization BitcoinCash reaches the necessary size, Roger will begin to lock directly in profits in this currency. I am not sure whether he is serious about it or not. But why now? He should have dumped them a few weeks back, when the exchange rate of Bitcoin Cash was close to BTC0.05. Bitcoin's circulating supply is 16,500,000; if he's got only 25,000 and he dumps them, that's shouldn't even justify a half percentage drop in price.
There's other ways he can make the price drop, and mostly around a combination of his mediatic power (bitcoin.com etc), connections (Korea..) and only at last brute purchasing power.

No need to be confused. The 24.9k of BTC was meant to pump the Bitcoin Cash price. The BTC price will not feel any impact if someone dumps 25k onto the exchanges. We saw very little impact when Silkroad coins were dumped. <sold at auction> The real impact was targeted at the one exchange selling Bitcoin Cash.

It was also a show of commitment to his followers. If he sells his BTC and buy Bitcoin Cash, his followers/sheep will do the same and this will push up the Bitcoin Cash price. Once it goes up, he sells it again and he makes a massive profit.

if he could dump his that much of bitcoin and moreover in that time where the valuation is deflating then most probably, this is his greed or he could be in need of some money that he needs urgently otherwise selling bitcoins at very low rate is never justified because this is the time of holding of bitcoins. Probably he will get more from BitcoinCash since he is currently holding many. So that he tries to promote BCH more than Bitcoin. But in the end BCH will always be an altcoin for Bitcoin.

Looking at the date of post, and date transaction was made, I will say it was a smart moved because bitcoin was at its ATH November-december. If he truly sold those bitcoins, currently the money gotten can be used to buy 2-3x money bitcoin than what he sold at that point in time.
That's why I always advice investors to take profit when they see hypes on their investment vehicle then wait for the market to calm down before reinvesting.
