Take a look around the crypto community, both in meatspace and online, and it would be fair to say that the majority of participants are male. This is borne out in a recent survey of 2,000 Americans which shed light on the makeup of the bitcoin space, highlighting a stark gender divide. In fact Google Analytics data estimates less than 4% of bitcoin users to be female. The question is, why?

Twice more men have or have bitcoins and nearly three times more likely women buy bitcoin in the next five years. Men also have a more positive view of bitcoin

There are few women in IT, and hence even fewer when in crypto. This is probably due to differences in ambition, interest and educational choices for men and women.

Logical, methodological and structural jobs tend to be held by men, whereas social, supportive and interactive jobs tend to be held by women. This is due to differences in the inherent skills of different genders.

I think men's duty is to make a living, so it's natural that more men are in the field of cryptocurrencies, and also women may not be too fond of things related to computerization, and because IT field is usually dominated by men

I know of some women that are in btc. My wife and some in her group. Maybe its just that women trade with emotions and that is not good. And maybe women cannot take the stress that comes with unpredictability of btc market. The women i know that are trading are stronger than most men and have good judgement

Plus women are not gamer.  They tend to just scroll up and down and post their photos on social media.  Whereas, men are into games and crypto currency.  But if women will got to know about bitcoin, then maybe they will likewise want their self to be engaged with it.

I think men will be better at technical products than women. Men are more challenging and innovative. They are willing to devote more time and energy to it.
It is not like this! as you know now in all areas of life women are participation well and equally. If today men are earning for family then most of women are the way to feed whole family, scientifically it is proved that women got more strength and power than men and she is blessed with a sharper mind than men do, so the same in bitcoin women can participate well in bitcoin as well.

Women are much smarter than men, so: why to make the effort to learn how to make profit with bitcoin, when they can smile to a man :-)

OK, just kidding. Women usually don't like trading because is too much like a videogame, and usually you stay alone in front of the monitor.
But I know some women that are fantastic forex trader, because they mix competence with female intuition, and have very good results.

That might be the reason why there isn't that many women in Bitcoin. Women like to spend money more than making it.

A remark: Women like to make men make money for them. And the funny fact is, it works!

It's an old story which started millions of years ago, and the proof is that men have on average more muscles than women or anyway their muscles produce more force, which proves that women don't really need a lot of muscles if they cans use the ones of the men for the crucial things like finding food, making money or moving a furniture.
Note: Muscles were very useful in the past to provide food, I have to mention that for those who spend too much time in front of their computers and would never suspect something like that.

haha, so true! unfortunately I don't think many of the residents of this forum are fit and muscled guys. Unfortunately too many people now think of their body only as a means of transportation for their head and other pleasure-delivering parts ))) Let's see, do you think there are are less or more fit hot guys in the crypto community than women? Who is a bigger minority? lol =)

You may have quite a point here, but I can assure you that you would be surprised of a few notable exceptions, and even exceptions filled like a matrioska with more exceptions. By the way, you forgot to mention which in your imagination is the average age of this unfit men who forgot to grow muscles Wink

@LeonardoDiCrypto, as your name hints, do you consider yourself as one of these "few notable exceptions"? I'm sure there are "outliers"  but they can be neglected to have a better predictive model =) Let's see what can I reply to your question. I think the average age of these men is hm, 25? What's your bet?

My bet on the average age is the same, around 25, but, you see, now here you have the first exception - I am twice that age, and then - oh wonder - I'm even reasonably fit. And there you can start to spot the smell of matrioska exceptions Cheesy

I've seen plenty of women getting involved with Bitcoin and Crypto.
From Twitter personalities to actually team member in several project.

I do agree that the Women/Men ration is a bit in the favor of Men here, and I think the reason for that is because usually the man is the one that brings money into the house and the women take care of the kids and the house.

The answer is men are more risk taker than women. Since people are thinking that bitcoin is a gamble where the income is uncertain. Also, there is a lot of study where it says that men are more risk taker. And most of the businessmen are men.

The reason could be enormous as to why there are less women in Bitcoin. But on a general note, i believe the world of technology is mostly adopted by the male gender, because of the default nature of a man. Regardless, there are some other areas of specializations where you find the female folks dominating as well. For me, it is just the mind-set for acceptance.

Men are more inclined to be adventurous when it comes to technology. Most women grew up in a society where tech is a 'guy thing', so it is not very surprising.
I do totally agree. But hope things will change

You just have to be smart, you don’t have to be a man for trading. Especially in crypto with bots coming into the markets. No man can TA the market better than an automated trading bot. So all we women just have to do now, is figure out how to buy Ethereum and the rest will be a walk in the park. Who needs men?

Actually i don't really know who is the first one to discover bitcoin aside from Satoshi Nakamoto who is the founder of bitcoin.I think that there is no exemptions to be a part of this bitcoin community and almost everyone here was anonymous. Now that bitcoin has become known in some countries pretty sure women already adopted it..men maybe think that they own the highest percentage as bitcoiners but there are already women that has started to join in this forum and focus to earn extra income. Most of them are fulltime housewife and unemployed..which is a great opportunity for them because they own thier time while taking care of kids while they profit as well.

Women like much more the result of something that the process that lead to that result: so, the only interest they have in bitcoin is when it's exchanged in fiat money and can be used for shopping.
So, why to lose their precious time learning to mine and to trade, when they can obtain the same result just smiling to a man? :-)
