Few minutes ago I received an email from Coinbase said that someone was trying to log into my account



I didn't careful so I clicked "Cancel Request"

After that I realized that it's a fake email cause the real email only mailed by    amazonses.com, but luckily I set up my Coinbase account with highest level secure with both Google Authenticator and phone SMS

I just want to let everyone know about this and be careful.

This is the first time I received this one.

It's really important setting high security for our account, many people nowadays trying there best to hack someones account to benefit themselves. Anyways, thank you for reminding us! I know now that we should verify each email we received.

Did they actually get your coinbase password but were stopped by the 2FA?

The coinbase vault has an extra level of security on top of 2FA if you use the multisig vault, you can print out the vault and restore it with your passphrase and user key without coinbase, and it has a timed 48H withdraw giving you time to cancel it if they happened to somehow get past 2FA. Someone recently had a sim card swap done to them, so this is a good suggestion, if your storing any quantity of coins in coinbase. I needed to cash out for a house move at the time coinbase were having issues, i used the printed keys to move my coins as i didn't have the time to wait several days for coinbase support.

Because of the rise of bitcoin in price and many people want to learn about it so scammer increase very fast and innovate their method of scam. I've met a mail similar to yours before, when Remitano's exchange platform send me an scam email (actually not from them, that mail was sent by a fake address which really look like them) and ask me to download their new apps on mobile phone. Before downloading new app, I was go to some forum and found that was a fake news so luckily, I've stayed out of it.

First of all thanks for letting us know, and yes i am also encountered these kind of emails from scammer's, they just wants to hack into your wallet and will loot everything from your wallet and also they will take control of your wallet.

To keep your wallet safe just verify and active 2FA.

No they didn't get my password ). They're trying to steal it by sending me a fake email about someone trying to log into my account then I click at their link and i'll lost my password if I log into my account under this link. But luckily I didn't do that ). Beside although they know my password they still can't steal my BTC cause they need to hack my phone to get the SMS code too )

Im receiving a same email too but Im satisified with my security. To access Coinbase account, there is in need of new IP request and same browsers so definitely hackers will have difficulty too. Im not using even 2FA for years now in my Coinbase.

Actually not just in Coinbase, Im receiving others too from other platforms including our local based web wallet. We just have to need to open our precious mind to the things that's clear an obvious trap.

This should really be an alert for you and for all of us that we should really be careful on where we do make sign ups and i do suspect that someone has your password since its being blocked by coinbase. Its still lucky that they didnt have the access on your email and if they do for sure you would really lose up those funds inside on those account. This is why we should really be careful nowadays because hackers are just lurking around.

I often experience things like that, but I always ignore them if my account is still safe. If someone's email notifications have logged into my account, I will not respond to the email, but if my main wallet account is hit like that, then I'll check it out quickly. Take care.

I receive a few of these types of emails misrepresenting many different websites each day. The key is to be careful and don't click any links or open emails that you are not expecting.
