The basic rules of trading: buy when the price falls and sell when it grows. Despite the basics, the market can behave unstable and make jumps that can ruin you, or vice versa. In addition to trading knowledge, luck will come in handy  Smiley

When the selling price is lesser than the price at which you bought your BTC's then it is the worst time to sell because you will surely face a loss so keep holding until the price get doubled or even more. The best time to sell can be when the price has reached it's all time high value. But according to me you should keep holding your BTC's until you are in the actual need of them

Selling is only depend on the decission of the bitcoin owner if he or she think that the present price is enoughf for them.to gain big amount maybe we can never really wait for a long time in order to gain profit only. When we can gain right now at this point of time. It is actually not possible to know when will the price be the highest to sell that is what makes trading bitcoins interesting to some people. I would say it differs from people to people

It would also depend on the how much you got your coin for, if you feel that a specific price point would give you a substantial enough return. Then, by all means, it would be the best time. But, if you feel that you want to add more bucks to your earnings, then hold it; however, you should also be ready to lose some because crypto values may fall at any time. I also sometimes to read candles are very difficult and prediction is not always true

As a novice investor you're likely to focus most of your time on what to buy and when. Being a successful investor is as much about knowing when to sell as when to buy. But how do you know when it's time to sell? What are the best reasons to liquidate a holding?
Only your own experience give you the answer on these questions

Exactly, on before thinking when to sell the first is when to buy and if you have bought at the right price or dip near or beyond the bottom then you may have to go with sell. Then when? Its not that experience but knowing when to sell its everytime 0.5% and up you can already sell and its a matter of contentment and control.

Can i anybody put me through the basics of knowing when to sell and when to hold?...
I actually don't know much about market rise in demand and supply and it's affecting me in daily trade of cryptocurrency.
I think selling is all about your decision because no one knows exactly the best time to sell. For me, I normally have 2 months of selling my coins.

1. Selling my bitcoin when it reaches a certain threshold e.g. $10k, $15k, or $20k.
2. Analyze the market using the free available tools such as CoinMarketCap, and OnChainFX. And decide whether to sell or not.

Knowing when to hold is probably the most simple, you hold no matter what whether the price goes up or it goes down, what you want to do with your coins is to keep them for as long as possible then once you decide to sell then you need to wait for a bull market for the moment where there is a lot of hype and the price is going up significantly, when you see those factors then you can sell your holdings and if you held for a long time you could make a fortune.

It is simply as this. Sell your bitcoin if you know that the price is getting higher and you can hold you coins if you're not yet contented with the certain price or the price is really low then its to for you to hold your bitcoin until the price will getting higher than what you expected. But sometimes to set our goals for this will be our guiding star.

Certainly, that is also my basis of when to buy and sell. I am a newbie of trading because i only used to participate for bounty campaign and i realized that trading is profitable so i buy some potential profitable coins according to the forum and honestly i have no idea of what is the correct basis or complete aspect to know that it is a time to buy and sell, so i only rely on the graphical trend. If there is some important aspect to consider then it is highly appreciated if someone will tell me.

I think it depends upon the limit of every individual.Selling must be on a verry high price, but we all know the the coin price are always moving because of thier different volume and status, so then the possibility to rise or to drop down is always there. I believe that most of the trader may depend on the profit that they get . If the profit is big enoughf then we Can sell it.

When you are earning,  it is time to sell your bitcoin or altcoins but if you really wanted to earn a huge income or profit you can do some holding for a great chance of great profit as soon as the price already increase.

i wait till it stays green for some time. then looking at the market graphs, trade or sell out before the peak or at least when I guess
or even when it just goes red and down slightly, as long it is higher then what I bought in. many ways to do it

If you can see that the coin will continue pumping, then only sell half of it and monitor the market closely. As everyone will say that do not be too greedy or you will just lose, not profitable. So only sell when you get at least half the profit.

What time frame are you comfortable with doesn't matter. The thing is you need to draw resistance and support lines precisely to find when to sell. Sell in higher resistance and buy in in lower support. It is actually that simple. Additional indicator might come in handy in volume and moving average. Volume gives you information about the power of market toward bullish or bearish. Moving average helps you identify trend in any time frames.

You will know when to buy and sell thru checking of graphs or by checking the market value of the coins, if it is green and you already earn some profits, then sell your bitcoin and if it is red,  buy more bitcoin.

If the issue of price prediction is very difficult so is only a luck that a merchant can rely on for profit every time. But for me when the coin price is showing an increase without a second thought I immediately sell and anticipate the occurrence of major losses.

It is so hard to predict the bitcoin price value per day. We cannot assure what will happen to bitcoin value. Just like on stocks, we should know when to sell, or when to invest. Bitcoin is too risky for us, selling is the best way to earn, but you should know when to sell.

I think we can sell our holdings when we have a profit in return of our investment, because selling is only depending on the price status, Normaly the people did not sell when the price drop, it is all because we are really looking for profit and we need to make or do action in a very prudent way for good.

yes, it is difficult to predict bitcoin price because we still don't know when the price is down or up but we still have a clue to try to make a profit. and if we can watch the price trends in daily, I think we can use the analysis to predict where the price wants to go so we can follow the price and make the decision to buy or to sell or even to hold. the time to sell is when we can see that we can make a profit when the price is up and not hold because we want bigger profit.
