We all know that cryptocurrency and Russia have contradictory relationships.

Russia seeking for the way how to regulate cryptocurrency, for example, some of Russians officials claim that bitcoin and cryptocurrency should be considered as "goods" and not a "currency". Also, they banned well known Russian media about cryptocurrency. They still don't want to legalize Bitcoin explaining that this currency is used for money-laundering and illegal business.

On the other hand, there are a lot ICO campaigns in Russia. Almost every week the crypto and blockchain events are organized. And Russian crypto community is quite big.

Do you believe that one day Russian government will legalize Bitcoin and join cryptocommunity?

Russian government has determined the bes locationn to mining in that country. They do some research and paid attentin on it. But i dnt know wetheer russian governmeent hasnt regulate it.

wel i think it is alll just a matteer off time..
According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

Seems like no, the Russia government prefer to create their own crypto currency, according to them it is easier to control it and of course the governments is going to regulate it,  so in the future I don't think the government is going to accept Bitcoin or any other ICO
Russian government doesn't declare anything like this. These are lot's initiatives about using blockchain. It's totally useless to make any coin with government regulations. There is a ruble in different types.

It is true that government is one of the primary thing to consider for bitcoin to be successful on the future. I do believe that having an open government in terms on accepting bitcoin on transactions, investment or either on trading for people to serve as a good way for them to earn is a big thing because it help for bitcoin functionalities in a more acceptable and accessible ways.

The possibility of Russia legalizing Bitcoin is 50:50. This is because the Russian government wants to avoid something undesirable, if Bitcoin and Cryptocommunity are made legally. With a large population, I'm sure many people who reject Bitcoin and many who welcome Bitcoin.

Earlier the Russian government used to be extremely hostile to crypto-currencies. But recently, they seems to have changed their stance. Perhaps they have seen what happened in Japan after crypto was legalized there. A lot of the Bitcoin-based businesses moved to Japan after the legalization, resulting in the creation of new jobs and an increase in the tax revenue.

The possibility is 0.5 to 99.5.

Both countries that are taking a stance against Bitcoin openly (China and Russia) have a problem with capital outflow.
They don't give a damn about bitcoin in general, the numbers of btc users is small, usage is limited , common we have around 300 000 transactions in the blockchain a day , probably 25% more at beast with segwit , compare this to 140 million or 1 billion citizens.

What they fear is how bitcoin makes it easier to get money out of the country.
And both their economy are bleeding millions. China has lost 3 trillions this decade, Russia around 40 billions during 2013.
This is their mean fear and they will not legalize bitcoin unless they find a way to control how much money every Russian put in there.

Of course, this is likely to happen, and no one can say for sure, although I think it will be very slow, but one day it will be legal Smiley

I'm sure they don't want to miss the moment so i'm quite positive they're working hard on the acceptable models for them. Since this seems to be the way the things will be done in the future, whoever sets up the functional national system of crypto payments first will have the edge over others.

I think if Russians are so fond of its president Putin, who directed Russia toward violation of international law - occupation of territory of other country (Crimea in Ukraine) and waging war against neighboring state, and hybrid war against many countries, they can choose Putin coin as primary currency.

I was surprised when I heard about PutinCoin, but it really exists and even listed on Coinmarketcap https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/putincoin/
And it's cheap now - $0.017331

Of course there is possibility that Putin won't be next president, but I don't want to go deep into politics in this thread.
About Putincoin I heard from Russians they presented it as something they are proud of.

I agree...besides, I'm so biased about the post-Soviet countries, that can't believe that they can keep pace with the times and adopt easily new technologies

According to the news, in October five presidential orders have clarified a situation around bitcoins. They plan to tax crypto miners, regulate ICOs, sandbox legislation for newly developed blockchain technologies, and form a single payment space.

There is project I also represent. So that is why it is very important for me. You can also join our telegram chat for more information https://telegram.me/kickcity_chat

Do you believe that one day Russian government will legalize Bitcoin and join cryptocommunity?

yes i believe, that soon Russian government will legalize bitcoin and join cryptocommunity because i believe that everything is possible as long as in peace negotiation everything happen in right way.we know that mostly Russian people love cryptocurrency business even that there some humor's  that it is use for money laundering and illegal business and all this found out that a" hoax"and gossip because its not proven guilty that bitcoin is in  used in illegal activities, only they found out that is used for the good of Russian economy.

Guys, I have some news  Smiley

There is a chance Russia will be open for BTC and other cryptocurrencies. The main Russian government bank "Sberbank" will create crypto found to support new projects.

I think this is a good sign
