When we have a (paid for with private investments of bitcoins) settlement on mars.. The average time for commutation between the two planets is 20 minutes.
How can our mars friends generate if they will be too late? What is the most logical solution?

Depends on which physical layer you're using. Ethernet can reach tens of kilometres over single-mode fiber.

Probably a space elevator. There could be a giant ass antenna built into the carbon nanotube fibres. Or more likely Mars will have its own blockchain and currency exchange will handle trade.
If you want good book series about a Mars colony I recommend the mars trilogy by Kim Stanley Robinson

Unless there are processor manufacturers on Mars it won't make any sense to generate there anyway. Any chip sent up for generating ought have just been left home to generate. And transactions will be no problem.
edit: this is probably bad analysis, might depend more on the power situation or other things.

To be precise, the drift speed of electrons in wires is very slow. It is the speed of electromagnetic waves in the insulating medium that matters, and that is about 2/3 of the speed of light. A common analogy is a garden hose full of water. When you add a little water at one end, some water comes out at the other end almost immediately. The individual water molecules need not traverse the entire distance. (A particularly nice analogy, because the speed of the effect is likewise determined by electromagnetic waves.)

On mars they could start a new block chain, but instead of 'generation' of new currency, The only way to get Marscoins is to conduct a valid transfer of bitcoins to a mars coin address. One can either have Bitcoins or Marscoins. But it takes 100blocks to transfer between.
