I think all of the given choises are matters. And there should be one great idea in ICO which is different from other ICOs, coins or tokens

you just need to get into the popular idea exactly, and that there are good money collections Wink
Usually following with the hype or communities movement regarding on the coins might really help you out but its not effective all the time because not those right ICO do came out to be famous because some of them didn't even get least attention into the public but did able to succeed without even reaching their cap which signifies that this project is self sustaining or really serious on what they are up to. Research and Research on which this is the best thing that you can do when tending on choosing the right ICO.
you need to learn information not only about the project itself, but also to search for information on the bitcointalk forum, where participants discuss certain positive or negative features of different projects, as well as their developers. The fact is that there are different projects that are created by the same unscrupulous developers. This is also necessary to pay attention and use to choose the right ico company.

if the team have telegram, slack, reddit, or group chat, you can join with them so you can know every details info about the projects. you can learn what the project offers to you and the investor so you don't have to spend the wrong ico. don't forget to read another people review in bitcointalk forum or another website so you can add more info about the teams. if somehow your feeling telling this is the good ico then you can directly invest your money in the project.

the experience of the team incorporated in an ICO will illustrate whether ICO is good or not. if biographies of team members have experience in some big companies in the world then it can be said that ICO is good

You have to read carefully the ICO's whitepapers and their roadmaps, and also you need to check the team behind the project and make sure if they are real people with good knowledge and experience about such projects or not, because there are so many fake teams behind scam ICOs.
Exactly so, what solves the problem here is to scrutinize the ICO's whitepapers and roadmaps as well as the Team behind the project. Its very key

Now it is very difficult to choose the right project. Many scammers have learned to make projects that are difficult to distinguish from the real ones. Because of this newcomers come across different tricks of scammers and invest in bad ICO. But anyway my vote is for the team option.

Well maybe there are some selection criteria? How can a person who is just starting to work in this area determine where fraud is and where not?

To choose the right ICO one have to do a research. Advises do not work here.

It is a complex question as it can have multiple variables.

1. Is it a new technology that is "viable".
2. Is it run by an experienced team that aren't going to disappear to the Bahamas for 6 months once they receive the ICO funding.
3. Is it an existing business model that can work and be moved to the blockchain.
4. Is the market value correct or purely speculation? (Ideal for selling an ICO for pump and dump but very likely it may never recover the change in its market value).
5. Will it be legally possible where the ICO is going to be listed.
6. Is the whitepaper information purely speculative or built on facts?
7. Can this ICO be replicated by another team with more experience and begin to dominate the market faster?
8. Are you interested in the ICO as an investment or like the idea even if it may never happen?
9. What does it bring to the blockchain?
10. Is it ethical, moral or sustainable as it's not always about financial profit.

So there is so many reasons that ICO's can be good or bad and often its purely upto what the investor wants out of it.

To choose the right ICO one have to do a research. Advises do not work here.

Not everyone can study the project and analyze. Especially beginners can not do this because they have no experience. I think that the most important thing in the project is the team. If the team is friendly, then ICO will become popular and profitable

it's better to choose iko where there are few users, where there are good bets, and a decent team with a sound idea.
then everything will be fine

I think the choices above are all important. Every part of ICO must be considered. If one will falter, it may cause the ICO to fall.

Its just a team of the ICO's the whole part of the ico it will depends on them because the leadership must do better to have a succes campaign if the team not do teamwork for their company it will last and not succes and the participants maybe lost they gave their better and it will lost the succes of ICO depends on the team to manage it.
Yeah, if the leadership is zero, then the project is zero. I have seen so many projects that looked promising, gave good road map, and gave beautiful ideas and what happened at the end? They ended up a scam, dead or even at some point abandoned by the dev to its own fate.

The leadership and the team will always want to keep their reputations in check and would make sure they give investors the platform to make lot of bucks from believing in them enough to invest in the first place.

Sometimes this is not enough. Even such projects may turn out to be scams. I several times chose the project, which soon died. At the same time there was a great team and a good idea. Probably should be a good advertisement

ICO is good should have a clear flow of funds for the ICO, if by no means scam. There should be an experienced team in order for the ICO is not obstructed or sometimes the payoff is not timely

I prefer the team and road map, this is where I'm having an interest to such ICO's. Don't go with the marketing or hype, that's why they have money for marketing to make their ICO to be on hype and that's scary when you just suddenly invested to such project because of that hype. There are ICO's that has the potential even there's no marketing, they are known for their purpose and plan.

Crypto market is emerging and by making the right choice, we can make real good $$$'s. What the key for a ICO to be successful?

Add additional options if I miss in the voting options

A whitepaper serves as those company’s pitch with possibility what their projects do. As such, it if a chance to be well-written What's more generous enough to provide urging contentions for the reason individuals if trust the dare for their speculations. Nitpicking those whitepaper Might substantiate advantageous in uncovering those subtle elements for how their results worth of effort Also the thing that compelling reason zones they will make tending to.

Often the most successful are those the ICO which are directly related to cryptocurrencies. I'd never invested in the projects, where the tokens are the only means of reckoning with investors and direct connection with the idea of the project no. So for example a good ICO was Monero and Zec.

Pay attention on  advertising, developers, blockchain of ICO (very often it can not provide the idea of the project), opportunity to use in life
That and do research about team members.
Look for projects where lots money is invested already.
Wait for dump after ICO ends.
Then buy.
The team members are like the backbone of every project. The project may sound or look good in the eye but without a good team, it may not reach the certain point that looks perfect for investors to make some real good cash.
As long as the team is good, they will surely always come up with a good project and work very hard to make it fly. Good team always believes they are indebted to their investors which is why you just cannot miss it.

I try to describe what I know about this ico
Ico can be said to be successful when it meets the following criteria:

1. Have a good team
this is undeniable because of the performance of all aspects of the team that have contributed greatly to the success of a project

2. The roadmap is running correctly
my roadmap is a sample point at number 2 because a project other than that also has to have a clear plan will be taken where the project is going forward, it is a supporting factor that will be given high from investors for the project

3. Marketing & advertising strategies
The following three factors are from marketing & advertising strategy, where how the project can be known by everyone in the world even, it is a third priority that has a core to the success of ico
