Thanks Micon, I confirm I received the 200 BTC from our bet.

This crypto escrow app works very well. Micon had actually misplaced his escrow code, but he merely had to ask the escrow (Dooglus) who had a copy of it. Escrow codes are effectively naturally redundantly distributed. Very cool.

So I guess escrows should be careful to not lose their codes. Would hate to be the one to say "sorry man my HD crashed and no backup" etc.

Companies claiming they got hacked and lost your coins sounds like fraud so perfect it could be called fashionable.  I never believe them.  If I ever experience the misfortune of a real intrusion, I declare I have been honest about the way I have managed the keys in Casascius Coins.  I maintain no ability to recover or reproduce the keys, not even under limitless duress or total intrusion.  Remember that trusting strangers with your coins without any recourse is, as a matter of principle, not a best practice.  Don't keep coins online. Use paper or hardware wallets instead.

It seems BFL Single SCs do 250 Mhash/Joule at 12V (estimation only, since no one bothered measuring power consumption at 12V). Anyway this seems far from the 350 Mh/J value set by the 80 BTC bet. So, I sent my cryptographic escrow code to Micon.

In summary, I won 100 BTC (150+ Mh/J bet), then lost 40 BTC (350+ Mh/J bet). Total = won 60 BTC from Micon.

Thanks for betting, Micon.

code rec'd, codes combined with C's btc-address system (although I had to dig out an Alpha version - seems the newest "btc-address" doesn't have the "escrow tools" menu (or maybe it's an older version that doesn't have it)

but anyway 80 coins rec'd, thanks again to mrb and others for setting an example of how gentlemen wager & then settle bets with each other.

I'm flying FPV race drones these days. Check out my YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/c/MiconFPV
