ETH is middle term but if they continue development then long term is OK. LTC not long term.

Yea i think ETH and LTC are both suitable for long term investment. But if i were you i first invest in btc, then other like eth and ltc. because now btc give the investor huge profit than eth and ltc or other altcoins.

Brand new to the cryptocurrency market.  Currently I hold a decent amount of LTC.  It's value has gone up nicely since I purchased it.  I've read all the predictions for LTC in 2018 and 2019.  It sounds promising as a long term hold...which is what I'm more comfortable doing...to reach $200 -$300 a coin.   I like the fact that there is a team in place trying hard to ensure it's future.  Charlie Lee may not be the most charismatic spokesman publicly but he's out there doing it which gives me confidence in his product.  Now, it's obvious that ETH is not going anywhere.  My question for the board is which outperforms the other in the next 5 years?  I tend to invest heavily in the direction that has the bigger upside.  Perhaps I should split my investing 50/50 regarding ETH and LTC?  What say the more experienced cryptocurrency gurus?

I have nothing against BTC.  I don't see it going anywhere.  It is the giant.  However, I feel the current price point is too high for my liking.

Thanks

My bet is that Ethereum will rise a lot. Dont know what ETC will do, maybe it will follow ETH a little bit, but it will never be stronger than the real Ethereum!

In my opinion, it's best if you stick with LTC for now, especially since it will have its Lightning cross-chain swap with BTC later, which may push its price to surge. Furthermore, we must also consider the fact that Bithumb is advancing the volume of LTC to a new height in their exchange and that, of course, will also affect its price eventually. We can actually say that we're expecting an increase in the price of LTC sooner or later if it continues.

Here my suggestion for you to go not with the single one coin Because the reality behind the truth about every coin in this field is totally unpredictable Because Everything depends upon the market and demand and as you can understand well.that how the people get into believe of rumours , so more chances for any coin to dump and pump .
But if you will have your investment in multiple coins then surely you will not face any loss ( or any big loss ) against any down in the market .
You should have investment in Etherium coin , litecoin  and in bitcoin also .
These are highly potential coins , but you should also take care toward another coins which are better for the investment like dash coin , stratis coin , Digibyte coin , posw coin , xvg coin , omg coin , neo coin , ripple , monero ( last two banking sector coins ) .

LTC is stuck to lite version of Bitcoin motto. Ethereum is being actively refined and updated and Ethereum is the prime fuel for ICOs.
Both coins are great and still profitable. But I believe Ethereum would be more beneficial than Litecoin in the long run.

What he said, and look at all the new Apps being built on top of Eth, there are a ton of awesome innovative new Apps coming out!

The main reason why people are not investing in LTC means the price was stable from the last couple of months and recently it was pupped for few dollars that's it. But people have hopes on this coin one day it will reach good value. Now I plan to buy $200 worth of altcoins I am confused which to but ETH or LTC or Waves, ETC.

I think ETH will perform better than LTC in long-term if countries don't ban ICOs.

Ethereum for me is a long term investment because their development takes years before they release it to the public. Also their are many companies using their chain platform for ICO.

if I had to choose to invest between ETH and LTC, I would most likely prefer to invest in ETH rather than LTC, I think ETH, more widely used by people in comparison to LTC

if you are trying to take stick at least one then LTC are not bad to choose for but if are able to choose atleast two then why not ETH and  LTC you have to go for because it is really up to you which is better for you for where you wanted for because in terms of short term for having at least good profit they can supply it for you.even for long term if they can make atleast a good in long term we see that it may be happen.

We can't know this, both are suitable for long term investments. It's not like one is okay and the other one isn't. If you trust their technologies, ETH and LTC can be promising ones for you at the same time. For long term, I would say yes for both.

You can choose both of them for a long term investments , but etherium is the choice of many because of its usefull in most ICO's that is being launched this days. And because most ICO's is based in ERC20 token, etherium is need to transfer tokens to other wallets , and its price rises that other altcoins.

ETH has many applications compared to LTC. Many businesses and .... Take a look at IOTA instead for long term growth. Easily exchange LTC / ETH with good rates on cryptocurrency exchanger EXMO

I don't see it going anywhere? From $0 to $8000 and BTC is still going nowhere are you sure? And you think LTC who just copied BTC's technology is going somewhere?
I suggest you think things through. ETH has great potential because it offers something new. Smart contracts are something BTC or LTC do not have.

ETH without doubt. I think a good number to keep in ETH is 10% - BTC 80% and 10% in others like NEO etc.

ethereum coin is a proper option to long term investation, because ethereum always exists in every market and of course be the based coin to do smart contract. other than, the price of eth is the most stable not like other coins that go down and bleed as btc price go up trend.
